The peak shopping season is here. In addition to buying goods for themselves, many consumers will also take advantage of the discount season to prepare holiday gifts for their relatives and friends.
According to the latest survey, 60% of consumers said they would buy discounted goods during Black Friday and Cyber Monday, and 47% of consumers said they waited until the peak season to shop. And 53% of consumers would choose Amazon to buy holiday gifts.
Recently, the shopping platform Slickdeals conducted a survey on holiday gift-giving habits among 2,000 Americans. It is worth noting that 52% of the respondents believe that gift packaging is one of the factors that influence whether to buy this product.
The survey shows that 51% of consumers hate wrapping gifts. They prefer to have their gifts wrapped by professionals and are willing to pay more for it. Half of them will choose to buy gifts that are easy to wrap.
Among them, 55% of the respondents thought that the most difficult gift to pack was a bicycle, 46% thought it was fitness equipment, 45% thought it was a sports ball, and 45% and 22% of consumers thought guitars and candles were difficult to pack. Because it is difficult to find a suitable packaging for the above items, even if there is a gift package, 59% of people can judge what it is by its appearance. Without the sense of surprise of gift giving, most consumers will not choose such products as gifts.
On the contrary, both gift givers and gift receivers prefer to receive 3C products such as smartphones, laptops, and televisions, accounting for 43%; 42% of respondents like experiential gifts such as DIY gifts; 38% like popular toys; and 36% would choose video game consoles.
According to the survey results, gift packaging also has a certain impact on buyers' consumption, especially during the peak shopping season, which is also the peak season for consumers to prepare gifts.
Therefore, in addition to paying attention to the products, sellers can also develop suitable gift packaging services based on the needs of local consumers and product attributes. This can not only increase product sales, but also improve consumers' impression of the store and increase repurchase rates.
In addition, online shopping will be the main shopping method for consumers during the peak season. In addition to the gift packaging of the goods themselves, sellers should also pay attention to the protective packaging of the goods during transportation to avoid damage to the goods during transportation due to insufficient packaging, resulting in unnecessary losses.
In addition, the survey also mentioned the respondents' expected spending during the holidays. On average, each person plans to spend at least $250 during this year's holidays.
51% of respondents expressed concerns about shortages of goods due to supply chain issues, 56% were concerned about shipping delays and 56% were concerned about price increases due to rising costs.
Slickdeals ' transaction expert Peter King suggested that in response to product shortages caused by the supply chain, sellers and transportation companies should prepare peak season goods in advance and ship them early to avoid delays. Because many consumers will shop early, starting to plan early will not affect peak season sales. Holiday Gifts Gift Wrapping |
