The Christmas wish list is out, and the most popular Christmas gift for the British is money!

With only one month left before Christmas, foreign consumers have already started preparing for Christmas. In addition to buying some Christmas decorations to decorate their homes and gardens, buying Christmas gifts is also essential.

In November this year, price tracking website PriceRunner and data survey and analysis agency YouGov jointly surveyed more than 2,000 British adult consumers and came up with a wish list of the Christmas gifts most desired by British adults .

The results of the study show that the British people prefer to receive practical Christmas gifts. For example, cash and gift cards are the Christmas gifts that British adults most want to receive this year . In the poll, more than a quarter ( 27% ) of the respondents chose this option , which is really "it is better to give a huge sum of money directly than to ask about their well-being."

Clothing ranks second on the British people's Christmas gift wish list, with nearly a quarter ( 23% ) of respondents hoping to receive beautiful clothes . With the advent of the post-epidemic era, more and more people are starting to go out, and the demand for clothing products is rising.

The third on the wish list is tickets for movies or performances. Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, people were prohibited from gathering in closed places with too many people for most of the last year. This year, about one in five (20%) people hope to return to their pre-pandemic lives and go to a concert or watch a movie .

Finally, with the increase in social interaction and gatherings in the post-epidemic era, alcoholic products and perfumes ranked fourth and fifth on the list of Christmas gifts most wanted by British adults , with 15% of respondents choosing each of these two options .

In addition to surveying UK adult consumers on what they most want to receive for Christmas , PriceRunner also analysed recent stock and price data on its website for popular categories .

The analysis shows that desktop computers, laptops, tablets, electric vehicles and wine coolers have low inventory supply this holiday shopping season. Toys , tablets, shoes , board games and game consoles have seen the highest price increases in the past six months .
