Recently, Amazon UK released a new announcement, announcing the expansion of the coverage of pan-European FBA to include three new countries: the Netherlands, Poland and Sweden.
This means that after sellers activate pan-European delivery, they can also enjoy lower delivery costs and faster delivery in the Netherlands, Poland and Sweden.
Amazon has also updated its pan-European FBA inventory page:
Sellers can easily check and manage the ASIN registration status in these three newly added countries. Sellers can select Poland as a standalone option for pan-European inventory placement to help ensure that sellers always pay local fulfillment fees for ASINs registered with pan-European FBA.
NOTE: The inclusion of the Netherlands, Sweden, and Poland does not change the minimum listing requirements for ASINs that qualify as pan-European (i.e. within Germany, France, Italy, and Spain). To benefit from local fees in the Netherlands and Sweden, sellers must enable inventory storage in Germany.
However, due to Brexit, the UK cannot share warehouses with several other European countries and needs a separate warehouse.
The addition of these three sites has made it easier for sellers to ship goods to the Netherlands, Poland and Sweden, and also saved some costs. Amazon’s policy change should also benefit from the development of e-commerce in these three countries.
Although not as big as the UK, France and Germany, the e-commerce levels in the Netherlands, Poland and Sweden have also increased rapidly during the epidemic.
Sweden : The local e-commerce platform My Mall saw its sales increase by nearly 1,200% in July. However, compared to large platforms like Amazon, locals prefer small local platforms, and Amazon sellers will face great challenges.
Netherlands : The Netherlands ranks third in terms of online retail penetration among European countries. The proportion of consumers aged 15 and above who have shopped online in the Netherlands has reached 80%, far higher than the European average of 60%. Some time ago, Amazon officially opened its local distribution center and is also continuously increasing its investment in the local area.
Poland : Allegro , the largest local e-commerce platform, achieved revenue of 300 million zlotys in the second quarter, equivalent to RMB 500 million, a year-on-year increase of nearly 60%. Although the number of visits to Amazon Poland has surged since its launch, it is still less than Allegro's platform visits.
For these three European markets, opportunities and challenges coexist, and sellers must also conduct market research and make reasonable strategic arrangements. Europe FBA Amazon |
