Shopify invests in e-commerce marketing platform Yotpo to provide more services for merchants

Canadian e-commerce service platform Shopify recently announced that it has made a strategic investment in e-commerce marketing company Yotpo and will establish a platform partnership with the company.

Yotpo was founded in 2011 and is headquartered in Israel. The company can help brands develop marketing plans, such as sending information to users through email and SMS to obtain user reviews of products to create customer content. Yotpo also provides marketing functions such as coupons and enables customers to upload photos of products they purchase. Yotpo said it is committed to driving customer engagement and improving customer retention, and has developed more than 30,000 e-commerce customers worldwide.

Shopify did not announce the amount of this investment. However, the joint announcement of the two companies shows that Shopify will help Yotpo accelerate product development and company development, and Yotpo will become one of Shopify's early partners in developing new features. The two companies will work together to develop a better shopping experience and improve the relationship between merchants and their customers. Retailers on the Shopify platform can better connect with customers and grow their business through innovative marketing tools and solutions.

Tomer Tagrin, co-founder and CEO of Yotpo, touted the new partnership , which builds on an existing relationship with Shopify, as “a major milestone” for Yotpo, as the two companies share clients such as Steve Madden, online women’s clothing store Princess Polly and US lingerie store ThirdLove .

Tagrin said Shopify merchants will be able to take advantage of "five cutting-edge products" developed by Yotpo, including SMS marketing, loyalty and referral programs, review and rating features, and tools that let buyers share photos and videos. " We look forward to working more closely with Shopify to deliver smarter, more connected experiences that create real value for our mutual customers, " Tagrin said.

Shopify has been working with a variety of businesses in 2021 to expand its influence . These include working with TikTok to allow users to purchase products from Shopify merchants within TikTok; launching the Shop Pay online payment solution and promoting it to other platforms; introducing Facebook Pay, etc. It can be seen that Shopify is constantly improving its services in the hope of attracting more sellers.
