Etsy requires sellers to provide advance delivery information!

Recently, Etsy issued an announcement requiring sellers to provide all the information needed for advance delivery . Etsy said that this requirement is to improve customer conversion rate. By providing advance information, buyers can know when their goods will arrive, so they can buy with confidence.

Etsy has also made detailed requirements for packages shipped from the United States , requiring the name of the domestic carrier, mail category, processing time and zip code to be provided; if the seller does not provide it himself, the list will not be automatically updated.

Etsy Vice President Jake Hipps reminded sellers and explained how the estimated delivery date is calculated. Etsy will estimate the time it takes for the item to reach the buyer based on the seller's zip code and mail class, and then add the estimated delivery date to the display list.

To make it easier for sellers to understand, an example is given. If the distance between the buyer and the seller is 2-4 days, and the processing time of the goods is 3-5 days, Etsy will show the shoppers an estimated delivery date of 5-9 days.

Etsy's platform is mainly open to handmade manufacturers and designers. The uniqueness of its platform makes Etsy slightly different from other platforms. The information required from sellers in listing mainly includes "product information, update options, title", etc.

In addition, the Etsy platform attaches great importance to the originality of products. Accounts have been blocked on Etsy before, but in most cases it is because the products sold do not meet the platform requirements. In this regard, sellers interested in Etsy should pay attention to the uniqueness of their products and the specific requirements for sellers, especially the differences from other platforms.

As one of the largest platforms in North America, some netizens think that Etsy has a slightly high entry threshold, but they understand it. Its sellers generally have to bear three major parts: product listing fees, transaction commissions, and payment processing fees. With the trend of platform diversification, Etsy has also attracted more sellers, and the current number of sellers has exceeded 10 million.
