Brits prefer next-day and free delivery

July 26 news, according to foreign media reports, recently, a survey report data provided by British e-commerce cloud software provider Brightpearl and logistics platform Parcelhub showed that more and more British consumers are willing to shop at retailers that provide "next-day delivery" and free delivery services.

The survey pointed out that although many British consumers (45%) prefer to buy in stores that provide "next-day delivery" services, one-third (34%) of merchants still cannot meet consumers' free delivery needs and do not provide "next-day delivery" services.

The "next-day delivery" service is becoming increasingly popular among British people. 45% of British consumers prefer to buy from stores that provide this service, and even 11% have explicitly stated that they hope their orders can be delivered free of charge on the same day or the next day.

In the absence of this service, British people prefer to shop in stores that offer free delivery or delivery within two days. Among them, more than one in five people (22%) will choose "delivery and pickup within two days" without hesitation.

In addition, 58% of consumers said that if a merchant offers free delivery, they are not only willing to wait longer to receive the goods, but will also spend more in such retail stores. Even 40% of consumers would rather wait a week to make a purchase in a store that offers free delivery.

In the past year, the e-commerce market has undergone tremendous changes and is currently in a stage of vigorous development. However, while retailers are facing opportunities, they are also facing more challenges. How to stand out among many retailers and win the favor of consumers has become a problem that plagues merchants.

Currently, more and more British people prefer "delivery" and free delivery services, and whether to provide this service has become an important factor affecting consumer purchases.

As of now, 34% of UK businesses do not offer next-day delivery, despite 73% of businesses believing they offer enough delivery options.

Therefore, merchants can start from here, invest more in order delivery and management, improve delivery services, attract consumers, and thus drive store consumption growth. In addition, they can also optimize after-sales services, improve consumer satisfaction, and thus increase repurchase rates.
