On February 1, 2021 , German guy Robin Thies sold his Amazon Germany e-commerce brand Brunolie to BBG ( Berlin Brands Group ) .
After receiving a considerable amount of funds, Robin withdrew from his busy Amazon business and spent more time enjoying life and fulfilling his childhood dream of flying. He obtained a pilot's license and often flew his plane in the blue sky, breathing the free air at high altitudes. At the same time, he did not forget his original intention and led his four-person team to rebuild and operate another Amazon brand and category.
Robin , a brand owner , founded his company in 2014. He took advantage of his good relationship with a large German mattress factory and began to sell mattress products on Amazon Germany and other platforms under the Brunolie brand, with sales growing steadily. Robin 's entire company sales increased from 1 million euros in 2018 to 6.8 million euros in 2020. By the beginning of 2021 , the company's overall performance had reached about 1 million euros per month.
So, why did Robin sell such a profitable brand ?
" There were several factors. First, one of my partners was leaving the company. We had eight full-time employees and 20 temporary employees at the time, all of whom needed management. I was faced with two choices: either manage it myself or find someone else capable. Both were difficult. In addition, as the company continued to grow and become stronger, risks continued to increase, and various management bottlenecks emerged one after another. Finally, after seven years of hard work, I was eager to take a break, so I decided to find a strong company to sell my brand. " said Robin .
After comparing many acquirers, he finally chose BBG because he had deep feelings for the brands he founded. Even if he had to sell them, he still hoped to find a company with a long history of cross-border e-commerce operations to continue to grow his brand.

On June 7, 2021 , BBG announced its official entry into China and will invest more than US$ 500 million to acquire brand stores of Amazon sellers. It is reported that the company has established its first branch in mainland China on the 85th floor of Ping An Financial Center, the tallest building in Shenzhen , to serve Chinese sellers .

We look for and acquire brands with the greatest growth potential, and with the help of BBG 's many sales channels around the world, we strive to enable them to reach more global consumers and further increase these brands' sales in the world. " said Peter Chaljawski, founder of BBG .
BBG hopes to leverage its global e-commerce channels and 16 years of e-commerce operating experience to achieve brand clustering and further increase the global sales and influence of these brands by acquiring Amazon brands from Chinese sellers.
