Amazon India Prime Day to see over 70,000 local sellers debut

Amazon India will hold a Prime Day promotion from July 26 to 27. Although there are still six days left, buyers and sellers can't wait. For this year's Prime Day, Amazon said it hopes to stimulate Indian consumption during the epidemic through this promotion.

It is reported that more than 75,000 sellers in more than 450 cities will debut in the "Amazon Local Store" during Amazon India's Prime Day . Hundreds of new products will be released, and more than 100 small and medium-sized enterprises will launch about 2,400 different categories of goods, providing consumers with opportunities to access more new products. Products range from smartphones, consumer electronics, TVs, appliances, Amazon devices to fashion and beauty, home decoration and daily necessities.

Subbu Palaniappan, director of Amazon India Prime, said that now more than 65% of customer orders on Amazon.in come from local second- and third-tier markets. They will continue to innovate in various aspects and provide unique priority services for the Indian site. Prime members will have the opportunity to obtain more discounts through Amazon local stores, Launchpad, etc., making Prime subscriptions more practical for members.

In the past two years, due to the impact of the epidemic, India's offline business has been slowing down, but the development of online e-commerce has been rising. During the Member Day held in August last year, the total sales of its site reached a record level of 500 to 600 million US dollars. Therefore, many people said that this year's Member Day is expected to set a new record.

According to Amazon India's next plan, by 2025, Amazon India intends to open 1 million local offline retailers and community stores on Amazon.in, and open 11 new operation centers to provide greater storage capacity for 850,000 sellers and create more jobs for local workers, thereby promoting new development of the Indian economy.
