Latest! Two more bands filed infringement lawsuits

Wu-Tang Clan, also known as Wu-Tang Clan or Wu-Tang Clan in China, is a New York hip-hop band. Wu-Tang Clan can be said to be a big name in the rap world. In 1993, Wu-Tang Clan released its first music album "Enter Wu-Tang 36 Chambers". It is considered one of the greatest and most influential albums in the history of hip-hop music.

On the 3rd of this month , WU-TANG CLAN entrusted GBC Law Firm to file a lawsuit, with the case number being 21-cv-4716. The US Patent and Trademark Office shows that "WU-TANG CLAN" was registered as a word trademark in 2009. Currently, the trademark is in a valid state.

WU-TANG CLAN is mainly used in audio-visual products, clothing accessories, event materials, etc. Sellers who sell related products can pay attention to whether the products they have are printed with this trademark, and also check the product page. The editor checked on the Amazon platform and found that many sellers are still selling products with this trademark.

In September 2019, WU-TANG CLAN launched the series "The Rise of Wu-Tang Clan". The editor found out that the second season will be broadcast on September 8. Generally speaking, before the series is broadcast, it will drive the hot sales of peripheral products. At this time, WU-TANG CLAN filed an infringement lawsuit, which may also be an opportunity to protect its own brand interests. In fact, the inspiration of the band's name does come from China's Wudang culture, but since others have registered the trademark in the United States, the seller can only abide by the rules of the game.

As for MOTORHEAD, it is a rock band from the UK. The band was founded even earlier, in 1975, and has a history of more than 40 years. On September 1, the band filed an infringement lawsuit. In fact, from June last year to June this year, the band has filed 4 infringement lawsuits.

For most sellers, the MOTORHEAD word trademark is definitely not allowed to be touched. In addition, the band has also registered graphic trademarks. Therefore, if the seller prints the following pattern on the product, it is also an infringement.

I have introduced many cases of bands infringing copyright. Generally speaking, the logos of bands, especially rock bands, are very powerful. If these logos are printed on products, they will attract young people with personality. However, compliance management is the long-term solution.
