Discrimination against other sellers? Amazon's new policy questioned, many sellers' replies deleted

On June 15, Amazon launched the Black Business Accelerator ( BBA) funding program . According to Amazon, the program, backed by US$150 million, will provide financial support, strategic business guidance, and marketing and promotion support to black small business owners to help existing and aspiring black small business owners grow their businesses and maximize opportunities to sell on Amazon.

Amazon's Black Business Accelerator Policy Questioned

When a platform discriminates sellers based on skin color, all sellers will be upset. Most sellers said that they do not agree to treat any group differently based on skin color, nationality or religion , because excluding any group from programs designed to promote business is promoting racism.

Regarding this policy introduced by Amazon, the responses from black brothers are also two-sided. Some African-American sellers said that they may have some support for black businesses and have been asking how to submit applications. However, some black sellers said, is this a lie from Amazon or the United States? The money will be spent, but not on any black people.

Some sellers speculated that Amazon made this announcement because there have been many recent articles about lawsuits filed by current or former Amazon employees . $150 million is not enough to help most black entrepreneurs. This is most likely a marketing strategy established by Amazon among consumers to enhance its image among minorities.

The most important point is, before the buyer places an order for the product, will he ask the seller about her race and gender ? The answer is obviously no!

Another seller said, “If I were black, I would be embarrassed and angry that Amazon perpetuates this idea because I want to make it on my own without needing special treatment to succeed.

Many sellers’ posts were deleted or hidden

Below Amazon's announcement, several sellers said that their posts were withdrawn or marked as "inappropriate". As for the reasons, I believe everyone is quite clear. Just like the point of view in the picture below: We must love virtue.

In addition, Amazon's new policy also involves a series of events. Some sellers said that they hope Amazon will promise to provide basic services to sellers, such as customer support that is actually helpful, reading and listening to customer service, support for mail fraud issues, and buyers sending back different or used items. These are nightmares that need to be solved urgently.

Amazon's playing field is not level, and many sellers do not get a fair shot, which makes many sellers depressed. However, we can only wait and see what Amazon thinks.
