Another Chinese-made product is forced to be recalled due to fire risk!

Recently, the Canadian Ministry of Health urgently recalled a floor lamp because it poses a risk of fire.

It is reported that the recalled product is a black metal floor lamp, the Dash floor lamp. After verification, the floor lamp is a Chinese-made product and is sold on e-commerce platforms such as Urban Barn and Sovinifurnishing.com .

Currently, 1,895 units of this floor lamp have been sold in Canada from February 2015 to April 2018.

As of April 9, 2020, the company has received three reports of melting floor switches in Canada, but no reports of injuries.

In response, Health Canada calls on consumers to immediately stop using the floor lamp and return it. People who purchased the bulb from Urban Barn should contact Urban Barn customer service to get a refund, and those who purchased the product from other retailers should contact Zuo Modern Canada and require proof of purchase.

The curved body of the Dash floor lamp includes four exposed old-fashioned light bulbs. The base is about 62 centimeters (24.5 inches) long, 20 centimeters (8 inches) wide, and the lamp is 176 centimeters (69.25 inches) high.

The product model mainly affected this time is 56006, and the UPC is 2050000387807. The UPC can be found on the underside of the lamp and consumers can check it.

The Dash floor lamp has been recalled for a possible fire hazard, and the cause has been identified: The foot switch of the Dash floor lamp may generate too much heat over time, causing the circuit to overheat, posing a fire hazard.

Currently, this product is being recalled in large quantities, and related products on some e-commerce platforms have been removed from the shelves. Therefore, if there are sellers who are still selling this product, they should remove the product from the shelves immediately.

In addition, sellers need to note that the Canadian Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits the redistribution, sale or donation of recalled products in Canada. Therefore, sellers should properly handle recalled products and should not put them on the market again to avoid being fined.

Recently, Chinese-made products have been frequently recalled due to quality issues, which has also sounded the alarm for sellers. Foreign countries have very high requirements for product quality. Sellers must control the quality of products when producing or selling Chinese-made products to avoid losses.

As we all know, once a product faces a recall, it is very troublesome. Once a product is ordered to be recalled, the seller will face many problems such as product sales ban and taking various remedial measures.
