AirAsia partners with RinggitPlus financial comparison site to launch AirAsia Money

AIRASIA Group Bhd has partnered with RinggitPlus, Malaysia’s largest digital customer acquisition channel for banks, to expand its financial services offering through AirAsia Money.


AirAsia President Tony Fernandes   Fernandes said: The platform has been included in the Airasia super app, which was launched in October last year and provides users with a one-stop service covering 15 products and services , including booking hotels, shopping, food delivery, insurance and bill payment .


" The company will provide financial products and services to the 65 million users on the platform , ensuring that every user can use them without burden , " Fernandez said .


He said : AirAsia Money allows users to get the latest financial news , information and guidance, as well as the best recommendations based on their needs .


“We launched the AirAsia Super App last year and it became the fastest growing super app in Asean . As we continue to innovate and evolve , we are proud to introduce a new platform within the AirAsia Super App AirAsia Money , he said in a statement.


In 2018, Airasia entered the fintech industry with BigPay . After the outbreak of the epidemic, the company chose to enter the e-commerce field, which had a greater impact on AirAsia's business. Currently, AirAsia Financial also cooperates with RinggitPlus to provide credit card and personal loan services to users .


AirAsia said it is pleased to partner with Malaysia’s leading financial platform RinggitPlus to launch the financial marketplace to provide more and more affordable financial products and services.


Looking ahead, AirAsia head of treasury Mohamad Hafidz Mohd Fadzil said the company plans to enter the Singapore market in early 2022 and is currently looking for partners.


“We will start with Malaysia because it is RinggitPlus ’s stronghold . If there is a better partner and RinggitPlus is not ready, we may work with another partner, said Mohamad Hafidz Mohd Fadzil .


“Financial Marketplace is a new fintech product we are offering on the AirAsia Super App that will provide relevant services to users in parts of Southeast Asia, he added.
