70% of Koreans say they want to travel more than dating or getting promoted

According to a survey, due to the outbreak and persistence of the epidemic, 70% of Koreans said that they would rather travel than fall in love or get promoted .

According to reports, digital travel company Booking.com conducted a survey on 28,000 people in 28 countries around the world on the 13th, including 1,000 Koreans. The results showed that 67% of Koreans answered: "I want to travel more than looking for love this year."

In addition, 72% of Koreans answered that "the first thing they think of is sublimation and traveling."

More than half of the respondents predicted that overseas travel will resume this year. 53% of South Koreans responded: "Through the continuous efforts of the medical and scientific communities and the introduction of the new coronavirus vaccine, tourism will resume this year. "

When it comes to resuming overseas travel, 43% of South Koreans said they would do so this summer, lower than the global average of 66%.

In addition, 40% of Koreans answered that “I plan to travel for a long time this year, but I don’t have a vacation, 66% answered that “ I don’t want to travel abroad before getting the new crown vaccine ,and 51% answered that “I will only travel to vaccinated countries.”

Due to the pandemic, every country or region has imposed travel restrictions, and 56% of Korean respondents explained that they felt trapped at home , which is higher than the global figure ( 47%).

More than half of respondents said that “not being able to move around freely has had a negative impact on mental health.”

It is understood that due to the impact of the epidemic, overseas travel has decreased, so domestic travel has become very popular during the epidemic.

On the 13th, the Korea Tourism Organization analyzed the movement patterns of Korean tourists using the tourism big data of the "Korea Tourism Database". The results showed that the total amount of tourism last year fell by 7.1% from the previous year, but the number of trips to residential tourist destinations increased by 3.4%.

Most students prefer to experience cultural attractions related to their studies, such as sightseeing spots, cultural facilities, and natural attractions, while the older generation likes to enjoy natural tourism near their homes, such as Daegu Apsan Park, Seoul Hangang Citizens Park, and Busan Dongbaekseom Island.

Thanks to the development and promotion of vaccines, I believe that the epidemic will eventually pass, and the suppressed travel demand may explode.
