Attention! South Korea recalls 30 products containing hazardous chemicals

Due to the outbreak, Koreans have spent more time indoors, so South Korea has issued a recall order for 30 products, including children's floor mats, that violate safety standards such as harmful chemicals .

It is reported that the National Technology Standards Bureau of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of South Korea announced on the 7th that it conducted a safety investigation on 724 products related to indoor and leisure activities, and found that 30 products did not meet the standards, and issued recall orders for them.

During the inspection, three children's floor mats were found to have exceeded the standard value of volatile hazardous substance formamide by six times, or the upper limit of the standard value of environmental hormone phthalate plasticizer by 645 times.

In addition, the standard value of phthalate plasticizers in a children's bicycle exceeded the standard value by 270 times, and three children's riding toys that had no brakes and the braking distance did not meet the standard value and were prone to accidents on slopes also received recall orders.

A craft toy was also checked in which a preservative that could cause allergic skin inflammation was found .

Also included were two sets of children's pajamas that caused entanglements due to formaldehyde exceeding the standard value by 392 times or the decoration being longer than the standard value ( 14 cm), and a set of children's pillowcases with lead content exceeding the standard value by 2.5 times.

In addition, ovens that exceed temperature standards and pose a fire hazard during use have also been ordered to be recalled, as have household pressure cookers whose safety device activation pressure exceeds standard values and poses an explosion hazard .

The National Institute of Standardization disclosed the 30 products for which recall orders were issued to the Product Safety Information Center (www.safetykorea.kr) and "Happiness Dream " (www.consumer.go.kr), and registered them on the sales cut-off system for hazardous products related to national distribution stores and online shopping malls, fundamentally cutting off market circulation.

In addition, two types of mask products that can cause skin irritation due to strong alkalinity and two types of electric bicycles that exceed the maximum speed standard were collected , and improvement measures were taken for 136 products that violated the labeling obligations such as the KC mark, usage age, and precautions.

For Chinese sellers, when choosing products, they should choose products that meet national quality standards to prevent major property losses.
