Order volume increased by 50%, and Avansas, a Turkish office retail e-commerce company, saw explosive performance during the epidemic

According to data released by Avansas, a Turkish office retail e-commerce company, the best sales months in 2020 were November and December , mainly because of the two major promotional festivals, Black Friday and Christmas, respectively. Avansas's order volume in 2020 increased by 50% compared to 2019.

 

On the buyer side, platform buyers browsed Avansas for more than 56 million minutes last year, and the number of new buyers on the platform increased by 68% compared to 2019.

 

In terms of hot-selling products, Avansas data shows that the best-selling products on the platform in 2020 were: disinfectants, tea, Turkish coffee, drip coffee, folders, paper towels, paper cups, toilet paper, copy paper, detergents and highlighters.

 

Due to the spread of the new coronavirus, Turkish consumers' shopping preferences have shifted to online, which is also reflected in the product categories. Avansas said that in order to meet consumer demand, the platform added more than 2,500 new categories and more than 5,500 products last year .

 

Avansas ' performance growth during the pandemic also benefited from the company's initiatives. Sedat Anak, general manager of Avansas, said: "In 2020, we acted with the attitude of 'anywhere is a workplace'". Avansas has discovered the growth of e-commerce in Turkey during the pandemic. In response to this trend, the platform provides consumers with more product categories, fast delivery and multiple payment options.

Sedat Anak said that e-commerce has become an integral part of the lives of consumers across Turkey. According to the E-Commerce Operators Association (ETED), Turkey's e-commerce industry achieved a 65% growth last year, reaching 250 billion (about 220.8 billion yuan). On the other hand, the number of Turkish e-commerce users is also increasing. According to Statista data, Turkey's e-commerce penetration rate will reach 67% in 2025.
