Although Vietnam has been relatively less affected by the COVID-19 pandemic , Vietnamese consumers ’ shopping behavior has changed dramatically , and survey results show that this trend of online shopping will continue. Currently, online shopping has become a daily routine for many Vietnamese consumers. The Vietnam Association of Quality Products Companies and the Vietnam Federation of Industry and Commerce recently released a survey on changes in Vietnamese consumer behavior during the epidemic. 82% of consumers surveyed said they shopped through online platforms during this period, and 98% of consumers said they would maintain this habit. Nguyên Phuong Nga, business development manager at market research firm Kantar Vietnam World Panel , said the convenience and low cost of online shopping are important reasons for its popularity. In addition, due to the popularization of the Internet and the development of technology , e-commerce has become more and more important in the minds of consumers. Compared with traditional trade, its advantages are wide supply, low transportation costs, and consumers can buy goods from more distant areas. A consumer survey conducted by the Vietnam Association of Quality Products Companies and Kantar Vietnam Market Research Company shows that e-commerce in Vietnam will experience explosive growth . Hô Duc Minh, product manager of the Vietnam Association of Quality Products Companies, said: “The advantage of e-commerce is that it can provide convenience to users. The diversity of product prices and types makes shopping easier.” Affected by the epidemic quarantine, three months later, the habits of Vietnamese consumers have changed, and most people no longer go to offline stores to shop. Shopee platform said that after the outbreak, the number of orders from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City increased the most , and health and beauty, women 's fashion, and family life products were extremely popular. Data shows that if Vietnam's e-commerce market can maintain its current 30% growth rate, the size of Vietnam's e-commerce market will reach US$33 billion by 2025 , ranking third in Southeast Asia , only lower than Indonesia and Thailand . The epidemic has promoted the development of e-commerce in Vietnam and has brought impacts and changes to the daily lives of Vietnamese people. The trend of online shopping will continue, and the market will surely develop faster and better.
