BigCommerce and Walmart reach new partnership to get 120 million visits per month for free

According to techcrunch, SaaS website building platform BigCommerce and Walmart have recently reached a cooperation. Eligible BigCommerce independent website merchants can sell products directly on Walmart's e-commerce market.

Choose your own technology software combination: Merchants accessing Walmart Marketplace through BigCommerce will also have access to a complementary network of CedCommerce , Codisto Channel Cloud , Feedonomics , SureDone , Zentail , Tinuiti , Teikametrics, and Deliverr to help them onboard products, manage orders , inventory , and advertising .

Physical retail giant Walmart has achieved great success in the e-commerce field in recent years. In the most recent quarter, Walmart's overall retail sales only increased by 7.3%, but its e-commerce sales soared by 69% . BigCommerce has also achieved strong growth in recent quarters after integrating with the US e-commerce platform Wish last year, with total revenue of US$181.2 million in 2020, a year-on-year increase of 41% .

Retail expert Carol Spieckerman also commented: “With the epidemic causing economic losses to many companies, it will be difficult for brands to resist the opportunity to reach millions of Walmart consumers, especially brands in non-essential products such as clothing, accessories and jewelry that have been more severely affected. Walmart can help brands achieve their goal of rebounding performance because Walmart has already attracted a large number of e-commerce consumers.”

 

In terms of Walmart's store traffic, Clementz once pointed out that Walmart has a huge number of monthly active users, which can bring 120 million visits per month to BigCommerce independent station merchants.

 

“Partnering with an industry leader like Walmart not only gives our merchants access to one of the largest marketplaces in the world, but also provides them with more opportunities to strategically expand their e-commerce footprint,” said Russell Klein, Chief Commercial Officer at BigCommerce.

Walmart ’s commissions are the same as the industry, but sellers don’t have to pay advertising fees, so it doesn’t cost anything to have your listings on Walmart’s marketplace , and Walmart plans to waive commissions for new sellers for the first time at the end of March , Clementz said .
