In recent years, the number of online shoppers in Indonesia has continued to increase, and e-commerce has become more and more popular among Indonesian residents. A survey conducted by Visa, the world's leading digital payment company , shows that Indonesian consumers' shopping behaviors and habits have changed significantly since the "new normal" era. The change in behaviors and habits is closely related to the rapid development of e-commerce, which can also be said to have driven the development of this trend. The survey shows that one in two Indonesian consumers believes that online shopping is safer and cheaper than shopping in offline stores. E-commerce provides consumers with many conveniences. During the epidemic, consumers can easily shop without leaving their homes. It is reported that consumers consider free delivery service to be the most attractive when shopping online, followed by coupons, payment convenience, seller response speed and reviews. Riko Abdurrahman, Managing Director and President of Visa Indonesia , said : “ Affected by the epidemic, consumers have begun to try different ways to shop , among which online shopping is the first choice. ” "Our research shows that e-commerce platforms and websites are able to meet consumers' basic needs and reduce contact during this difficult period. During this period, whether the transaction process is safe is the top concern of consumers," he said . In addition, the survey shows that local brands are becoming more well-known in Indonesia and are known by more consumers. 68% of Indonesian consumers believe that local products are more affordable, which is the most attractive point. Secondly, quality and various discounts are also important factors that influence consumers to place orders. It is understood that in the past six months, the top three categories with the highest online searches and local product sales in Indonesia were food and beverages, fashion accessories, and beauty and skin care products . Due to different consumption levels, consumption concepts and consumption habits, Indonesian consumers have different demands for products, but it is worth affirming that the e-commerce market in the region is developing at a visible speed and has a promising future.
