Amazon Global Selling offers more tools and services to users in Malaysia

Amazon Global Selling offers more than 25 new innovative tools , services, and logistics to support sellers around the world to succeed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

It is understood that amid the crisis and other unfavorable factors in 2020, Amazon 's online store has enabled thousands of sellers, including those from Malaysia, to maintain or even increase their sales .

Many Malaysian sellers have grasped these fast-changing online trends, prompting them to expand through Amazon in categories such as jewelry, health and personal care, and home.

Recently, Amazon said in a statement that as the transformation continues, now is an ideal time for Malaysian sellers to establish a global business presence online .

In conjunction with the transformation of Malaysian sellers, Amazon also held the first two-day Amazon Southeast Asia Online Seller Summit 2021 for Malaysia .

The theme of this summit is “Go Global and Sell on Amazon” , which aims to provide long-term educational support for Malaysian sellers who want to sell on Amazon.

This support builds on Amazon’s current initiatives, such as its online seller education series , Seller University, to help sellers grow sales in Amazon’s global stores.

The online event was attended by representatives from the Ministry of International Trade and Industry ( MITI) , industry partners and sellers from Malaysia, and received more than 1,000 registrations in total .

In his speech at the summit , Senior Minister and MITI Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Azmin Ali said government agencies such as the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation ( MATRADE) actively encourage micro, small and medium enterprises ( MSMEs ) to use e-commerce websites to reach consumers worldwide.

"We hope that local SMEs will leverage this opportunity to strengthen the appeal of Malaysian brands to a global audience through digitalisation and internationalisation , " he said.

Meanwhile, Amazon’s head of global sales in Southeast Asia, Bernard Tay, expressed the hope that through this virtual seller summit, Malaysian sellers will be encouraged to realise their potential and promote the development of Malaysian products in the future through the Amazon online store .

Over the past year, local SMEs in Malaysia have grown their cross-border e-commerce business by using Amazon ’s innovative tools , services, and strong global network to overcome operational barriers .
