Amazon's financial report is released: full-year revenue of $386 billion, a year-on-year increase of 38%

Yesterday, the news that "Bezos will step down as CEO of Amazon" shocked a large number of sellers. In the sellers' infinite imagination, Bezos' era came to an end in early 2021, and Amazon's 2020 financial report was given extraordinary significance.

On February 2, Amazon announced its fourth-quarter financial results ending December 31, 2020 , and the full-year financial report is about to be released. Sellers, come and take a look!

In the fourth quarter of 2020, Amazon's net sales reached US$125.6 billion , a year-on-year increase of 44%. It is worth noting that this is the first time that Amazon's single-quarter revenue has exceeded the US$100 billion mark ;

If we look at the market segmentation:

In addition, in the fourth quarter of 2020, Amazon's operating income increased to US$6.9 billion, an increase of approximately 77% year-on-year; net income increased to US$7.2 billion, or diluted earnings per share of US$14.09.

In the full year of 2020, Amazon's net sales reached US$386.1 billion , a year-on-year increase of 38%; operating income increased to US$22.9 billion , an increase of approximately 58% compared with US$14.5 billion in 2019; net income increased to US$21.3 billion , or diluted earnings per share of US$41.83.

In 2020, Amazon made a lot of money and once again refreshed our cognition. So how did the sellers perform?

According to a Jungle Scout survey of nearly 5,000 Amazon sellers in December last year , net sales of third-party sellers on Amazon increased 57% year-on-year in 2020 , making a huge contribution to Amazon's $386 billion in net sales.

More than three-fifths ( 62%) of Amazon sellers said their profits increased in 2020, and 44% said their business performed better than expected due to COVID-19.

In the new year, the vast majority ( 96%) of sellers plan to expand their Amazon business. At the same time, sellers are also looking for new e-commerce opportunities. For example, 39% of Amazon sellers are considering selling on Walmart in 2021, and 21% of sellers plan to open their own e-commerce stores.
