What is Kohl's? Kohl's Review, Features

Kohl's , founded by the Kohl family in Milwaukee in 1962 and now with stores in 40 states, will grow by a third over the next two years after an aggressive expansion drive.

About Kohl's

Kohl's sales target is mainly young mothers with young children. Most of its stores are located in urban areas where families gather. It emphasizes shopping convenience and value for money. Kohl's has children's, youth, women's and men's product departments. The products are mainly clothing. The prices are affordable and the quality is good. In addition, there are various promotional offers, which makes it very popular.

Kohl's stores are mainly concentrated in the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern regions of the United States, featuring high-quality national brand merchandise at specific prices. The company's stores sell mid-priced clothing, shoes, accessories and home products, targeting middle-income customers to purchase goods for their families.

Kohl's has successfully attracted a large number of customers by launching a strong publicity campaign with various promotional methods. For example, the first 600 customers of each new store were given a Kohl's handbag; before the opening of 28 new stores in California, nearby residents received coupons worth $10. In addition, customers who filled out the application form for Kohl's credit card in the store could get a 10% discount on shopping, etc.

Store Brands

Kohl's in-store brands include high-end designer lines such as Dana Buchman, Vera Wang, Narciso Rodriguez and Peter Som, and celebrities such as Avril Lavigne, Lauren Conrad, Daisy Fuentes, Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony and Tony Hawk all sell branded clothing exclusively through Kohl's.

Kohl's private brands account for nearly half of the company's $19 billion in annual sales. They include in-house apparel brands such as American Beauty, Apt. 9, Croft & Barrow, Jumping Beans, So, Tek Gear and Urban Pipeline. Sonoma Goods for Life brand apparel and home goods are valued at more than $1 billion, and Kohl's announced a relaunch of the brand in 2016.
