Publicis Australia acquires Balance Internet, furthering its commercial expansion

Recently, Publicis Groupe Australia has acquired digital commerce company Balance Internet . The commercial details of the transaction have not yet been disclosed , but both parties said it will help promote the development of e-commerce in Australia.

Publicis Groupe is an international advertising and communications group. Balance Internet focuses on digital commerce and has its own analysts, UX and UI designers, and development teams to help clients build their own e-commerce B2C , B2B and direct-to-consumer businesses.

It is understood that after the acquisition , Balance Internet will be part of Publicis Commerce , led by Chief Product Officer Jason Tonelli. Tonelli said: " After expanding our business capabilities through Marketplace in the past 12 months, we are very happy to hire professionals like Balance Internet and look forward to them using these resources to serve our customer base . "

The Publicis Commerce division includes omnichannel retail professionals, as well as Marketplace Commerce, an online marketplace management and optimization solutions team that helps advertisers grow sales with online retailers and marketplaces such as Amazon , Google and Facebook.

Michael Rebelo, CEO of Publicis ANZ , said : “I am delighted to welcome the talented team at Balance Internet , who have been successfully delivering digital transformation for clients for over a decade .” The acquisition is part of Publicis Groupe’s commercial expansion to ensure the group continues to advance in key growth areas including commerce.

James Horne, CEO of Balance Internet, said: We are delighted to be joining Publicis Groupe and to have the support of an agency with a strong track record of delivering marketing and digital business transformation for some of ANZ’s leading brands.

Australia's e-commerce market is growing rapidly and has become the world's tenth largest market, with about 80% of Australians purchasing goods online. The latest research shows that with the rapid growth of online retail in 2020, two-thirds of online retailers in Australia are increasing their e-commerce budgets to further promote business development.

Publicis Groupe's business expansion continues, and the acquisition of Balance Internet by its Australian branch makes us look forward to the future development of Australian e-commerce.
