Chinese tea "Oriental Leaves" is now sold on Amazon!

In recent years, with the "sugar-free concept" and people's growing demand for health, sugar-free tea drinks, which were once not optimistic, have ushered in their own "favorable situation".

 

Take the Oriental Leaves, a tea brand that has become popular in the past two years, as an example. It was once rated as "one of the five most difficult to drink beverages" by netizens and sat on the bench for ten years. Now it has transformed itself into a new top brand in the tea beverage market .

 

During the Paris Olympics not long ago, Oriental Leaves appeared on the prime advertising space of CCTV's live broadcast and frequently appeared in the international field of vision, earning a strong presence.

 

Recently, industry media discovered that Oriental Leaf has opened an official store on the Amazon platform, named "ORIENTAL LEAF" .

 

Through the ORIENTAL LEAF store homepage, it can be found that the products on sale are the main best-selling items in the domestic market, including green tangerine Pu'er, black tea, oolong tea, jasmine tea, green tea and other classic tea drinks. The packaging design also still maintains the brand characteristics and is basically the same as in China.

 

However, its price is several times higher than that domestic.

 

In the ORIENTAL LEAF store on Amazon , 15 bottles of 500 ml jasmine tea are priced at $28.99 (about RMB 207), while the same product is only priced at RMB 63 on domestic e-commerce platforms . Industry insiders said that this price is due to factors such as high logistics, tariffs and operating costs.

 

Looking back at the development history of Oriental Leaves, it was launched in 2011, ranked second from the bottom in the Chinese consumer satisfaction survey in 2013, and was rated as "one of the five most unpalatable beverages" in 2016. It was basically in a loss-making state in the first seven years after its listing. It was not until 2019 that it was promoted to the brand with the largest market share in the sugar-free tea category and slowly began to go uphill.

 

According to Nielsen data, the annual growth rate of Oriental Leaves will exceed 100% in 2023, and the compound growth rate in the past three years has exceeded 90%. Professionals predict that at this rate of development, Oriental Leaves may become another large single product of Nongfu Spring with a sales volume of over 20 billion yuan in 2026 .

 

From turning losses into profits to gaining global recognition and successfully expanding overseas, it can be said that Oriental Leaves has fought an extremely beautiful turnaround .

 

In fact, it is not just Oriental Leaves. In recent years, there are many other Chinese tea brands that have embarked on the journey of going overseas, including Mixue Bingcheng, Heytea, Bawang Chaji, Chabaidao, Yihetang, Tianlala, Shanghai Auntie, 1Diandian , etc.

 

Last week, Nayuki's Tea's first overseas flagship store opened in Central World Shopping Center in Bangkok, Thailand, with sales of nearly 350,000 baht a day, setting a new record for single-day sales of overseas stores. A colleague said, "Every overseas store of Chinese tea is really a hit."

 

So far, more than 20 Chinese tea brands have successfully opened more than 10,000 stores overseas. In the future, as Chinese tea culture penetrates the world, tea drinks, tea leaves and other related categories going overseas will be a new opportunity for cross-border sellers .
