In March last year , as the Choice service was launched globally, AliExpress signed the famous Korean movie star Ma Dongxi as its first spokesperson. This time, AliExpress joined hands with the "national goddess" Tang Wei, perhaps hoping to highlight the image of fashion and people-friendly. It is reported that Ma Dongxi will continue to endorse AliExpress together with Tang Wei. Currently, when you open the AliExpress App and locate the Korean site, you can already see the joint poster of Tang Wei and Ma Dongxi. AliExpress' official account in Korea also announced this news.

Over the past year, AliExpress has continuously improved consumers' shopping experience through Choice, while increasing its market investment. It has grown rapidly in South Korea, has long been ranked first on the Korean shopping app download list, and has become the mobile app with the most new users in the Korean market in 2023.

In December last year , the number of users of AliExpress surpassed that of the established local e-commerce companies Gmarket and 11St, becoming the second largest e-commerce platform in South Korea. This is the first time that a foreign platform has appeared in the top three e-commerce platforms in South Korea, a country with strong local protectionism.

At the beginning of 2024, AliExpress has increased its investment in the global market. First, it signed Asian Footballer of the Year as its new spokesperson in the Middle East, and then won the official partner of the 2024 European Cup, becoming the first e-commerce sponsor in the history of the European Cup. In addition to the new spokesperson, AliExpress recently announced a plan to invest $1.1 billion in South Korea within three years, and to expand the scale of its Korean subsidiary by hiring a large number of Korean employees and strengthen local operations.

Logistics fulfillment also continues to accelerate. The "Global 5-Day Delivery" express delivery product launched by AliExpress and Cainiao has now expanded to more than ten core markets including Germany, France, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, the United States and Mexico. Consumers from Europe, America and Asia can receive parcels from China within 5 working days.

At the third quarter earnings analyst meeting, Alibaba International management said that the next period of time will be a period of large-scale investment for Alibaba International, especially the Choice business based on the hosting model . The latest data from AliExpress shows that the semi-hosting model has entered a high-speed growth track, with nearly 20,000 merchants growing by more than 100% last month alone.
