AliExpress has ushered in new opportunities in the Korean market. AliExpress and Cainiao have officially opened the first preferential warehouse large-scale special line, which can be delivered to Korean consumers in as fast as 7 days , helping large furniture, home appliances and other categories to expand into the Korean market.
It is reported that AliExpress's first super-large-item special line can provide delivery services for large items weighing less than 60kg, supporting general goods, electrically-charged goods and other categories. Both custodial and self-operated merchants can enjoy this service as long as they prepare goods at AliExpress Cainiao Shandong Preferred Warehouse.
(The warehouse of Shandong Cainiao, an online shopping platform of AliExpress, is filled with sofas, dining tables and other large items that are about to be shipped to South Korea)
Previously, merchants had to purchase their own transportation resources to ship oversized items to South Korea, and the average fulfillment time was 10-15 days, and the cost was high. After the official oversized special line was launched, the fulfillment link is simpler, and delivery can be made in as fast as 7 days , with lower costs and more guaranteed after-sales service. The delivery of large Chinese products such as sofas, gaming chairs, massage chairs, mattresses, and bedding that Korean consumers love will be more convenient, and merchants will have less worries.
This is another breakthrough in cross-border logistics products for AliExpress and Cainiao , the "going global partners". The variety of AliExpress's advantageous products in South Korea will be further improved, providing more cross-border merchants with business growth opportunities. South Korea has been a key market for AliExpress to continue to focus on in the past two years. In December last year, AliExpress's user scale beat local giants 11st and Gmarket, and as an overseas platform, it set a record and ranked second among South Korean e-commerce platforms.
It is understood that the oversized item special line launched by AliExpress and Cainiao will be expanded to more countries and regions in the future, providing logistics upgrade services for more merchants on the platform and continuously expanding the platform categories and merchant richness.
New trends in the cross-border circle in 2024 have emerged: cross-border platforms are committed to improving the diversity of merchant categories on the basis of ensuring price power and ultimate service.
After the four Asian Tigers went all in on full hosting in 2023, semi-hosting, which gives merchants more flexibility, has become a new outlet. AliExpress semi-hosting completely retains the operating rights and pricing rights of self-operated merchants, focusing on helping merchants upgrade logistics services and improve contract fulfillment efficiency. The launch of the super-large-item dedicated line is another strengthening of the platform's logistics capabilities, and merchants who mainly sell large-items will also enjoy more dividends.
