Exchange of goods can be said to be a common occurrence in online shopping. As the number of online shoppers increases, online sellers encounter such situations more frequently.
Last week, Amazon announced that it had reached a partnership with the return management platform ReturnGo to integrate it with the Multi-Channel Fulfillment service to provide return and exchange processes for third-party sellers on the platform and enhance after-sales capabilities.
Wain Yu, director of Amazon's multi-channel fulfillment , said that the cooperation between ReturnGO and MCF will make the reverse logistics process of sellers simpler and more automated; the combination of both parties' technology and delivery capabilities will also help sellers using MCF provide buyers with a simple, fast and automated return experience. ReturnGo said that while Amazon MCF is able to support returns and return verification, there is no automation function for returns created through it, so the return process requires manual operation and is very time-consuming.
But after the two parties cooperate, the orders created by ReturnGo will be synchronized with MCF, and when the return on the platform is approved, a return authorization will be created in MCF. ReturnGo will also create a prepaid return label and distribute it in the name of the seller. When the returned goods are processed in the warehouse, the ReturnGo platform will be updated based on this information.
Aviad Raz, co-founder and CEO of ReturnGO , also said that the new service is currently being tested with some merchants . It should be noted that there are still some limitations to this integration, for example, it does not support multiple shipments per return request. But according to the company, this problem will be solved soon.
In addition to Amazon, other delivery and fulfillment service providers are also working to improve their reverse logistics capabilities. For example, UPS recently acquired Happy Returns to provide comprehensive return services for its large retail customers.
According to the National Retail Federation ( NRF), in 2022, sales losses from returns to U.S. retailers alone exceeded $816.7 billion . Amazon return the goods MFC |
