Sellers are delighted! Established e-commerce platforms reduce commissions to encourage off-site traffic

According to the latest news from the platform, Etsy sellers who generate sales revenue through off-site traffic will be eligible for commission reduction through a new program launched by the platform .

It is understood that this new plan is called Etsy Share&Save, which is somewhat similar to affiliate marketing, but the difference is that sellers can only get commission rewards if they sell products from their own stores.

“We will provide participating sellers with unique links they can share on channels outside of Etsy to promote their items,” Etsy explained.

When consumers visit the seller's Etsy store through their link and make a purchase, Etsy will reduce a certain commission fee for the seller.

It is reported that Etsy will hold a seminar on Share&Save on September 21. At that time, sellers can learn more information on the Etsy website. The website said that the Share&Save login page will continue to be updated.

Additionally, there is more detail in the accompanying Seller Manual, which explains the types of links you can share through the program:

Links to your store: These links take buyers directly to your store homepage so they can browse all the items for sale. You can find a unique link to your store in the upper right corner of the Shop Dashboard.

Links to specific listings: Sellers can also save fees by sharing links to specific listings, especially when sharing popular items or items that are on sale, or posting information about restocking.

Links to promo codes: Let your fans know about special offers you're promoting. Sellers on Etsy can share links to your promo codes with their shop fans. On the Sales & Discounts page, just select the promo code you want to share and copy it.

Etsy explains that while such links never expire, buyers must place an order within 30 days of clicking the link in order for the order to be eligible for Share & Save .

Finally, Etsy said that sellers need to pay attention to one thing: the Share&Saving qualification of each order is determined based on the buyer's last click before purchasing. If the buyer's last click before visiting your store is through an ad, the order will not be eligible for Share&Save.
