Wuyou Logistics cuts prices again, Cainiao International Express joins hands with AliExpress to improve the competitiveness of overseas merchants

Summer is here, and with it come promotional events on various platforms, such as AliExpress’s 618 sale overseas and Amazon Prime Day, as well as major festivals and sporting events for overseas consumers, such as France’s National Day and the British Wimbledon Open. At the same time, the European and American back-to-school season from July to September each year is also a grand consumption season that cannot be missed for merchants.

In order to further enhance the competitiveness of cross-border merchants going overseas, Cainiao International Express and AliExpress have jointly lowered the logistics costs of some worry-free logistics routes, covering 8 countries including Spain, the United Kingdom, Brazil, the United States, and Mexico, covering a variety of solutions such as general cargo, electrified cargo, and special cargo. For example, the overall reduction in the worry-free logistics standard is between 5% and 15%, and the reduction in some routes exceeds 20%. It is expected that the delivery fee per kilogram will drop by 9-40 yuan (depending on the reduction in gram weight), and the high-gram weight segment of 600-2000 grams will drop more significantly.

Taking the Spanish market as an example, the overall price reduction of the two categories of worry-free standard general goods and electrically charged products was about 8%, with the largest reduction exceeding 10%. The maximum reduction in delivery costs per kilogram was nearly 10 yuan.

Assuming that a merchant who sells women's clothing ships goods to Spanish consumers from Yiwu or Dongguan, the average logistics cost of a package weighing about 400 grams is expected to drop by nearly 8%. If it is heavier clothing, the cost may even reach 10%. If the merchant sells a set of kitchenware to Spain, the weight of the package will reach 600-2000 grams, and the logistics cost of the package is expected to drop by 10-13%.

Spain is the "global model room" created by Cainiao . Relying on overseas logistics infrastructure such as Spain's overseas warehouse groups, automated distribution centers, and 6 major distribution stations, it covers different logistics scenarios such as cross-border small packages, local warehouse shipments, and on-site delivery. Combined with domestic logistics infrastructure such as domestic preferred warehouses, collection warehouses, and freight centers, Cainiao can provide diversified logistics solutions such as cross-border direct delivery, domestic warehouse shipments, overseas warehouse shipments, and same-city delivery, which can meet the different needs of cross-border small and medium-sized merchants, leading merchants, and brand merchants.

The country with the largest drop in logistics costs was Mexico, where the overall logistics costs of Wuxi Logistics' standard general cargo and live-cargo solutions dropped by nearly 15%, with the largest drop reaching 23%.

It is reported that Cainiao and AliExpress have lowered logistics costs for two consecutive quarters.

In addition, Cainiao's standard logistics routes have been expanded to 9 new countries, covering the weight range of 0-2kg.

"Summer Sale is currently the focus of cross-border merchants. They want to achieve good results in the summer, and have also begun a series of work such as product testing and stocking for the autumn and winter peak seasons. Cainiao hopes to ensure and improve services through measures such as dynamic pricing, so that overseas merchants of different categories can maintain competitiveness in different weight ranges." Su Yu, head of cross-border solutions for Cainiao International Express, told reporters that Cainiao will continue to build global logistics infrastructure to reduce costs and increase efficiency for cross-border merchants.

It is reported that Cainiao’s self-built international express logistics network covers more than 100 countries and regions around the world, of which the “5 US dollars for 10 days” logistics product has covered 20 countries, helping more cross-border merchants “deliver to the world with the money for a cup of coffee.”
