Amazon driver "attacked" his own warehouse, the seller said: I will deliver the goods myself!

As one of the world's largest employers, Amazon has been facing constant conflicts with its employees. First, office employees jointly wrote a petition refusing to go to the office to work, and then warehouse workers gathered together and threatened to go on strike.

Recently, even Amazon's truck drivers couldn't stand the company's "terrible" treatment and decided to take action to resist.

It is understood that Amazon drivers and dispatchers "attacked" an Amazon distribution center in California and set up a cordon around it to protest against low wages and employee safety issues.

Jesse Moreno, an Amazon driver who participated in the march, said: “Two weeks ago, we notified Amazon that we had organized a union, hoping to solve the various problems faced by Amazon delivery drivers in this way, but Amazon refused to sit down at the bargaining table to solve these problems.”

"We know that workers are the backbone of Amazon. Without us, packages wouldn't be delivered to consumers. Today, we hope to send a warning to Amazon to take unions and our safety issues seriously. "

Last month, Amazon's truck drivers voted unanimously to approve their first union contract, the first union agreement covering workers across Amazon's vast delivery network.

In the summer in Palmdale, USA, the highest temperature sometimes reaches 100 degrees Fahrenheit (37.7 degrees Celsius), and drivers are at high risk of heat stroke during delivery, but Amazon does not care about this.

Michael Lieb, an Amazon driver , said, " In the summer, it feels like there's an oven in the back of the truck, but the company has been slow to fix the truck's air conditioning. I'm dizzy from the heat, but there's no time to rest because we're under pressure to deliver packages on time. We think Amazon should be held accountable for this. "

It is understood that the current demand put forward by the union is to raise the wages of drivers to US$30 (RMB 208) per hour. In addition, Amazon also needs to improve the working environment of drivers and the right to say no to unreasonable delivery work.

Although they are both workers, it may be difficult for domestic sellers to empathize with American workers. After all, their strike will directly affect the delivery of their orders. One seller joked: "I am so anxious when I see the orders are stuck there. I might as well just deliver them myself!"

The two sides have not yet reached an agreement on how to resolve the issue.
