Urgent! Another infringement case occurred in the United States, and some sellers have been frozen

In the overseas e-commerce market, the toy category continues to be hot , and hot-selling products are continuously being exported to the market. However, while sellers are selling hot products, they must also pay attention to copyright infringement issues.

Recently, a large number of Chinese sellers have faced prosecution for product infringement.

It is reported that the American company Ty Inc. filed a trademark infringement lawsuit against a large number of Chinese sellers in the Northern District Court of Illinois . The case number is 22-cv-03768 , and the products involved are Beanie Babies -related plush toys.

It is understood that TY is a US-based plush toy design and production company founded in 1986. It has multiple plush toy series , the most famous of which is the Beanie Babies big-eyed cute plush doll. Since the 1990s, Beanie Babies dolls have become popular all over the world, repeatedly creating sales miracles, and still occupy a leading position in the plush toy market in Europe and North America . Some of TY's products can be sold for hundreds or even thousands of dollars in the second-hand market.

On Amazon, Wish, eBay and other platforms, TY   The sales of Beanie Babies related products are very good. In addition, some businesses also use the image of this doll on other products to attract consumers to buy.

TY Company attaches great importance to intellectual property protection. As early as October 2020, it had filed lawsuits against infringing goods on major platforms . Now, a large number of sellers are facing prosecution again.

It is important to note that in addition to trademarks, TY's copyrights and patents have also been registered in the U.S. It is understood that TY has registered 2,007 copyrights and 971 patents in the U.S.

Because there are too many product copyrights and patents involved, sellers of related products can go to TY's official website to view products in each series. If similar products appear, they should be removed from the shelves as soon as possible to avoid infringement.

It is understood that the HSP law firm has already issued a temporary ban and is gradually freezing stores. Therefore, toy sellers who have not been caught must hurry up and conduct self-inspections and remove their products from the shelves as soon as possible to avoid having their stores closed.

As we all know, the international market attaches great importance to the protection of intellectual property rights . If the products of overseas sellers involve infringement, they will face very serious consequences .

Therefore, before putting products on the shelves , sellers must conduct a detailed review and evaluation of the products and conduct trademark inquiries to understand the specific status of the products in terms of copyright, trademarks and patent applications , so as to avoid losses to the store due to product infringement.
