Amazon acquires service providers to help sellers develop multi-channel

Veeqo was founded in 2013 and is headquartered in Swansea, Wales , UK . It is a software company that helps sellers manage their e-commerce platform business. Its customers include sellers on e-commerce platforms such as Amazon, eBay, Shopify , and Walmart . Its services include order delivery, returns , and tracking of inventory products. According to information on LinkedIn, the company has about 60 employees.

eMarketer estimates that Amazon has about 40% of the e-commerce market share in the United States, close to half of the market. Despite this, Amazon has long been interested in continuing to take a piece of the pie from e-commerce platforms such as eBay, Etsy, Shopify, and Walmart.

Previously, Amazon launched the Multi-Channel Fulfillment program. Multi-Channel Fulfillment is a program of Amazon Logistics (FBA). With Multi-Channel Fulfillment, sellers can use their inventory stored in Amazon's operation centers to deliver orders from sales channels other than Amazon, such as the seller's own website, other third-party websites, etc.

But at the same time, third-party logistics providers and companies like Shopify, UPS and FedEx have also launched their own logistics services. And Amazon has lowered prices to attract and retain sellers.

Amazon's acquisition of Veeqo means that Amazon will integrate more powerful service tools into its multi-channel distribution plan, which may attract sellers from other suppliers.

According to foreign media reports, Amazon had acquired the company as early as November last year, when Veeqo announced the deal on its official website. This week, Octopus Ventures, one of Veeqo 's investors, confirmed the deal. Octopus Ventures disclosed on its website: "We are happy to share that Veeqo has been acquired by Amazon."

An Amazon spokesperson confirmed the acquisition but declined to disclose specific terms. “We plan to continue investing in new features and improvements to help Veeqo serve sellers around the world from its headquarters in Wales, grow their multi-channel businesses, and improve the customer experience,” an Amazon spokesperson said.
