Introducing new plug-ins, Shopify helps sellers expand their market!

Recently, there was news that Shopify will introduce the search engine optimization plug-in Yoast SEO on January 18 to help sellers create better product pages.

It is understood that Yoast SEO is a popular SEO plug-in for the famous open source website building program WordPress, and it has more than 4 million installed users.

There are many benefits to creating an independent website for sellers. For example, you can say goodbye to the days of living under the "eyes" of the platform, worrying about the health of your account and trying to "beg" for traffic from the platform. This year's "account ban wave" on Amazon has further strengthened the determination of some sellers to build their own websites. In addition, building your own website can also build a brand and accumulate customers that truly belong to you.

Of course, building your own website also has its own disadvantages, such as large initial investment and difficulty in attracting traffic. Therefore, placing advertisements on other platforms has become a good choice for many independent website sellers.

However, to be noticed in search engines , you need to beat your competitors. This is where SEO plugins like Yoast SEO come in .

According to Yoast SEO, it can ensure that the seller’s website meets the highest SEO technical standards, specifically: creating SEO-friendly product pages and blogs, optimizing keywords, using automatic structured data to increase visibility, providing preview modes on other platforms, etc.

However, on Shopify, this plugin is not free. Yoast SEO only offers a 14-day free trial. If sellers want to continue using it, they need to pay a certain fee, $20 for 30 days.

Shopify's addition of the Yoast SEO plugin can be said to be a move to optimize services. In fact, Shopify has also made a lot of efforts in optimization recently.

In the middle of last year, it was reported that Shopify had deepened its cooperation with Google. Up to 1.7 million sellers will have exclusive display windows on Google's search, maps, Lens, images and YouTube.

Not only that, in the following October, Shopify also cooperated with Microsoft. After the cooperation was reached, sellers on Shopify could use the corresponding integrated tools through the updated Microsoft Channel App.

It is not difficult to see that through these actions, Shopify and Amazon have more chips in the battle.
