The momentum is strong! 92% of small and medium-sized retailers in Europe are experiencing sales growth

Recently, Sendlane surveyed 150 small and medium-sized sellers in Europe (sales below 44 million euros) to understand the current e-commerce market. According to the report, the vast majority of them (92%) have achieved sales growth.

Among the sellers participating in the survey, 21% of small and medium-sized sellers saw sales increase by at least 40% , and the majority of sellers (34%) saw sales increase by 10% to 20%, followed by 33% who saw sales increase by 20% to 40%.

In addition to the growth in sales, sellers' profits have also grown rapidly. Up to 90% of the sellers surveyed have seen an increase in overall profits of 10% or more , and most companies expect these trends to continue. Up to 93% expect sales to increase, of which 28% expect an increase of at least 40% . In terms of profits, 92% of sellers expect their profits to continue to grow, of which 24% predict an increase of 40%.

As e-commerce purchases increase, traffic to e-commerce platforms seems to have stabilized , promotional sales are no longer the main driving factor, and consumers have developed the habit of shopping on e-commerce websites regularly . As a result, online sellers are also increasing their investment in technology tools. As many as 85% of retailers will spend more on e-commerce technology in 2021 than in 2020 .

But many respondents believe that consumers are experiencing marketing information fatigue and need to adopt new approaches to find breakthroughs. At least 89% of companies plan to increase their marketing information spending in 2022 .

Sendlane CEO said: " The past year has been an exciting and complex year for e-commerce. Consumer purchasing habits were moving towards e-commerce long before the pandemic , and the pandemic has accelerated the shift to online shopping . Looking at the current situation, 53% of respondents believe that e-commerce conditions are strong , and 39% believe that they are very strong . This shows that despite concerns related to the economy, shipping issues, online fraud, etc., e -commerce retailers will also be in a good position in 2022. "

As Europe is an important overseas market, sellers should also pay more attention to local dynamics and make good market layout.
