Another children's product has been recalled ...
Recently, the Canadian Ministry of Health announced the recall of a children's bathrobe due to the risk of flammability. The recall involves Watco brand children's cotton hooded pool bathrobes . The Canadian Ministry of Health has determined through sampling and evaluation that these products do not meet the flammability requirements of children's sleepwear in the Children's Sleepwear Regulations .
Approximately 803 pairs of the pajamas were sold across Canada between April 2020 and November 2021. To date, the company has not received any reports of accidents or injuries related to the pajamas in Canada.
Health Canada says these loose-fitting children's pajamas are more likely to come into contact with fire sources such as stoves, candles and matches than tight-fitting pajamas. Once ignited , they will burn quickly and may cause severe burns over large areas of a child's body.
Therefore, consumers who have purchased the product should immediately stop using the recalled children's bathrobes and take the bathrobes to Decathlon stores for a full refund. At the same time, the Canadian Consumer Product Safety Act explicitly prohibits the redistribution, sale or even transfer of recalled products to others in Canada.
In order to allow children to wear truly safe pajamas when they go to bed, the Canadian Ministry of Health has also given clear standards for children's pajamas. The Canadian Ministry of Health stated that loose pajamas made of polyester, nylon or polyester /nylon blends are more in line with flammability requirements. Tight pajamas or polo pajamas can be made of cotton or cotton blends.
To ensure the safety of children, any belts, ties or waistbands on robes and sleepwear must be securely sewn to the center back of these products. In addition to this, manufacturers are also required to check for loose buttons or other small parts that could pose a choking hazard to children.
As a vulnerable group, the safety of children's products cannot be ignored. When producing products, sellers of children's products must strictly control the quality of the products and effectively protect the personal and property safety of consumers. After all, once a product is recalled due to quality issues, the negative impact on the seller's business activities is also very large. Children's Products recall Product Safety |
