Outrageous! Amazon refunds orders from four years ago

Having worked on Amazon for a long time, you will encounter all kinds of outrageous things. Recently, a seller expressed his dissatisfaction with Amazon in the forum. The specific process is as follows:

The seller discovered an anomaly when performing FBA removal. A product that had not been sold since 2017 appeared in the recent inventory. The seller tracked the order and found that the product was a refund completed last month, while the order was completed four years ago...

Faced with such an unreasonable request, Amazon actually agreed. The seller also went to Amazon to ask for an explanation and received the following reply: " To ensure a good customer experience, we may accept returns beyond the time frame specified in the policy. Amazon may make exceptions based on specific circumstances and accept return requests beyond 30 days. " The four years is also within the requirement of more than 30 days.

The buyer may have applied for a refund out of curiosity, but this actually harmed the interests of the seller. It was equivalent to lending the product for free for four years. Add to that the return rate and various logistics costs, and the only one who suffered was the seller.

Sellers are no longer surprised by Amazon’s bizarre operations:

Seller A: You signed a contract with Amazon to provide customer service for your FBA orders, agreed to let them make the decision, and in this case, they have fulfilled that contract. It shouldn’t surprise you that Amazon values buyer satisfaction more than your wallet.

Seller B: I will never in my life send any of my inventory to FBA or other such remote agents. I have to downsize my living space and consignment inventory, but at least I can control it.

Seller C: Amazon has always adhered to the principle of "customer first". We third-party sellers are insignificant in their eyes.

Faced with such malicious returns and no way to appeal, sellers can often only consider themselves unlucky.

Amazon’s return policy has always been criticized by sellers, and it changes every once in a while. Whether it is FBA or self-delivery, sellers are subject to Amazon’s strict policies. Even after complaining, they still have to follow the regulations and “deal with it”.
