Another children's product has been recalled! It was sold on Amazon

On September 2, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission ( CPSC ) announced the recall of more than 1,600 Step2 child aid tools: StepUp Sidekick Learning Towers, which help children use the bathroom sink. The reason for the recall is that the product poses a potential safety hazard to children using it.

According to the CPSC's description, the main body of this children's learning tower is white, with a gray tray on the top and a cup holder on the tray, so it can be used as both a toddler learning tower and a toddler footrest.

However, the problem lies with the tray. CPSC believes that the tray and steps on the learning tower may become loose or even fall off, which may put children in danger of falling during use.

Step2 said the children's learning tower was sold on the Step2 website and Amazon platform, and was sold to consumers in the United States and Canada for approximately $100 from May to June 2021. At the time of the recall, Step2 had received 20 reports of steps or trays of the children's learning tower falling off, including one report of a child falling from the tower and suffering bruises.

The CPSC said in its announcement that customers who purchased this product should stop using it immediately . Customers who purchased this product directly from the Step2 website can call the company or contact Step2 through the company's recall page to receive a full refund. People who bought this product on Amazon can get an Amazon gift card as reimbursement.

In Europe and the United States, children's learning towers are very common children's learning and auxiliary tools. When the editor searched on Amazon, he found that there are various types of children's learning towers on sale, and the prices are mostly below US$100, including popular products with thousands of reviews.

However, after checking the reviews of these popular products, the editor found that the top-ranked reviews also mentioned safety issues during product use, such as not being stable enough, children easily falling when using them, lack of safety measures, etc. Relevant sellers also need to pay attention.

Recently, recalls of children-related products have occurred frequently. It can be seen that children's products are indeed a "high-risk area" for quality issues. When sellers are making children's products, they must pay more attention to the design and quality.
