International luxury e-commerce platform Farfetch launches pre-order service!

Recently, the international luxury e-commerce platform Farfetch launched a pre-order service function, which has reached cooperation with multiple brands such as Balenciaga and Off-White. The pre-order function was launched on the 25th of this month. After subscribing, buyers will be able to pre-order new products in advance. The e-commerce platform focuses on light luxury style and has a strong sense of fashion and is very popular among young fashion consumers. Many new products will be sold out soon after they are launched.

Farfetch was founded in 2008. Its product styles are mainly minimalism, street fashion, expressionism, etc. Its products are mainly clothing, women's bags, and shoes, with a distinct light luxury style. International luxury brands and designer works occupy a dominant position on the platform.

Farfetch established a branch in Shanghai, China in 2015, with offices in 11 cities. Farfetch's delivery service has covered more than 190 countries and more than 450 cities in China. It has more than 550 global cooperative buyer collection stores and more than 200 cooperative brands have settled on the platform.

Farfetch raised $45 million in its first round of financing in 2010. Its most recent round of financing was in 2015, when it raised $86 million, valuing the company at $1 billion at the time. Now, its market value has far exceeded $1 billion.

FWRD and Moda Operandi from the United States are also Farfetch's main competitors on the international luxury e-commerce platform. Amazon is certainly not absent, and Amazon also has a dedicated luxury platform Shopbop. Competing with these international fashion platforms are some niche private brands, such as PixieMarket in the United States, which mainly targets young women as its main consumers, and Bonobos, which mainly sells men's fashion items.

However, due to its high-end fashion positioning, ordinary sellers generally do not choose to settle on such platforms, but its sales volume is not affected by factors such as high prices and styles.

Regarding fashion categories, the editor has recently discovered that private labels are becoming more and more popular. If sellers are interested, they can try to establish their own brands and product styles.
