Americans have no money! 61% of consumers say they will wait for discounts when buying clothes

It is understood that research firm 2Visions recently conducted a survey of more than 2,200 American e-commerce consumers , and the results showed that 62% of clothing shoppers will wait for the product to be discounted before placing an order .

The study, which was conducted in April , also found that consumers were twice as likely to buy products that were 20% off compared to products that were not discounted. In addition, researchers found that when the discount reached 50 % , shoppers were 99% more likely to place an order than when the discount was only 20 % .

On the other hand, the results of this survey also show that different groups have different levels of trust in coupons . Among different groups, Generation Z has the highest trust in coupon codes , followed by Millennials , then Generation X , and Baby Boomers have the lowest trust in coupon codes . It can be seen that coupons are something that young people are more enthusiastic about now .

In terms of consumption habits, unlike in previous years, perhaps due to the life pressure caused by inflation, today's consumers seem to be less loyal to brands, and cost-effectiveness has become the most important thing for Americans today.

Yates Jarvis, CEO of 2Visions , said: "This report highlights the behavioral logic of target audiences in e-commerce purchasing behavior , and by analyzing this phenomenon, it can provide good marketing ideas for e-commerce sellers .

However, the conclusion of this report does not seem to be able to help current sellers. Because everyone knows that price cuts can bring sales, but blindly cutting prices will only lead to a vortex of price involution.

Moreover, pricing needs to take various costs into consideration, so in terms of marketing, there is no way to capture the hearts of consumers simply by lowering prices.
