Please note! Japan plans to end the state of emergency on March 7

Currently, the Japanese government has stated that the state of emergency in Tokyo and four surrounding areas will end on March 7, and the state of emergency implemented in Japan due to the new coronavirus outbreak will also be fully lifted on this day.

It is understood that on February 28, the Japanese government has lifted the state of emergency in six areas including Osaka Prefecture and Kyoto Prefecture.

In February, Tokyo had a total of 10,997 confirmed cases, with the number of new confirmed cases exceeding 10,000 per month for three consecutive months since December last year. However, it has decreased compared to the peak of 40,367 cases in January this year.

After the infection situation has eased, the government advanced the original plan to lift the lockdown on the 7th, but this does not mean it is completely safe. The infection may continue, so don't let your guard down.

In addition, the expert advisory committee expressed strong concerns about the early lifting of restrictions in six prefectures. The government stated that the requirement to shorten restaurant business hours will continue to exist and will not be completely canceled. The requirement to reduce the hours will only be extended by one hour from the original time of 8 pm.

From March to April, activities such as graduation, school enrollment, employment, and cherry blossom viewing are very concentrated, people's activities become active, and the chances of becoming "three close contacts" increase. In addition, highly infectious mutant strains are beginning to become popular in Japan, so people must pay special attention to preventing infection.

Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike said it is currently necessary to control the flow of people to deal with the epidemic.

At present, the government should focus on promoting the vaccination work that has just started. If the infection spreads again, the medical system, including doctors, will return to a state of tension, and the vaccination work, which is already understaffed, will be affected.

In addition , the Tokyo Olympic torch relay will begin in Fukushima Prefecture on the 25th of this month. If a " fourth wave " of infection occurs in the future, it will have a huge impact.

It is hard to say what the epidemic situation will be like in the future, but what we can do is to adjust our mindset , not be too anxious or panic, and do a good job in our own epidemic prevention. This is our greatest contribution .
