"In 2021, I feel embarrassed to tell others that I am working on Amazon. Few people are making money," a seller lamented.
Amazon sellers are in dire straits today, but there are still training institutions that vigorously promote the "Amazon's money-making effect" in order to attract a large number of new sellers to join the market and reap the benefits.
Recently, Yien received a report about Amazon training institutions that were frantically cutting leeks. These training institutions charged tens of thousands of yuan, promised one-on-one teaching, but played pre-recorded videos, and used ERP to trap students and repeatedly collect other fees... When students found out that something was wrong and wanted to refund, they were threatened with being blocked.
Training company was exposed for cutting leeks in various ways, and students' tens of thousands of tuition fees were wasted
The phenomenon of unscrupulous Amazon training institutions and service providers cutting leeks is not uncommon in the industry. At a time when Amazon is blocking accounts and sellers are struggling to survive, these institutions have not shown any signs of restraint.
Recently, several novice sellers came to Yien to report that they had been cheated by Henan JinX Technology Co., Ltd. and Tianjin JinX Technology Co., Ltd.
The whistleblower said that Henan JinX Technology Co., Ltd. and Tianjin JinX Technology Co., Ltd. mainly used major social platforms and student recommendations to attract people. "They mainly made various promises, such as guaranteeing a return on investment within three months, and used photoshopped pictures and processed videos to show how easy it is to make money on Amazon, to lure us to pay."
But after receiving the money, their true colors were completely exposed:
1. The class was just a formality. The agreement promised one-on-one teaching, but during the class it was one-to-many, and the videos played were pre-recorded. If there were any questions, they were asked to watch the replay. 2. Use ERP to trap students and then sell them various plug-ins. 3. The logistics costs are extremely high. For the same product and the same destination in ERP, the cost difference can reach 70-200 yuan within a few days. 4. The contract clearly states that specific product tutoring will be customized for each student, but in the end the same product link is sent to dozens of people at the same time, and the product is extremely prone to infringement. 5. The promised refined operational teaching actually teaches you how to follow sales in the early stages, and how to use ERP to upload products and create listings in the later stages. 6. Selling products that students are selling well, or even embezzling students’ goods and sending them out on their own, and then saying that they did not receive the goods. 7. Students and training institutions can only communicate through a single line, and students cannot communicate with each other.
After all this operation, some people have invested a lot of money, but they may not even know how to log in to the Amazon backend. "There was a 50-year-old student who knew nothing about computers, but he was also pulled in. After paying 12,800 yuan in tuition, he studied for more than a month and was sold various plug-ins, but he didn't know how to log in to the backend." said a whistleblower.
After realizing something was wrong, some students wanted to negotiate a refund, but the other party not only made excuses, but also threatened: Believe it or not, I will close your store immediately and you won’t be able to take out a penny of the money in it.
"I only found out about these things after I contacted other students through QQ." A whistleblower said angrily: "Later, when they found out that we added students through the mutual friend function of QQ, they deleted us all, saying that they were afraid of affecting the students' studies."
Training institutions harvested Xiaohongshu, and a large number of mothers fell into the trap
When it comes to Xiaohongshu, the first thing that comes to mind is that it is a place for young people to buy products, which brings together information on beauty, personal care, travel, etc. However, what is unexpected is that the training institutions have also swung their scythes here. A large number of mothers and young women who are not well-versed in the world have fallen into the trap.
Many of the above whistleblowers were deceived on Xiaohongshu:
"I was lured in by an agent on Xiaohongshu. After that, their sales made a lot of promises, but in the end, none of them kept their promises." "I was also deceived by a person on Xiaohongshu. He said he learned a lot on JinX and used his personal reputation to guarantee its reliability. He also said that the refined operation of the store proved its strength by receiving orders within three days. In fact, he was selling infringing products and the profit was kept very low. Some even lost money." …
Searching for Amazon on Xiaohongshu, you can find clues of training institutions if you observe carefully. As shown in the following figure, two notes with completely different titles from different accounts have the same pictures when you click on them.
Not only that, they also lurk in the comment sections of some normal cross-border e-commerce knowledge sharing sections. As long as they see someone showing a desire to enter the industry, they rush in like wolves seeing meat.
In order to understand the routines of these training institutions, a seller posted a note on Xiaohongshu , saying that he wanted to do Amazon, but didn’t know where to learn. He asked if there were any relevant websites to learn and whether it would be difficult to learn by himself.
What is unexpected is that the account , which has 0 followers, received 9 private messages within 24 hours of posting the note. Some of them directly asked to teach him how to do Amazon, and some asked to communicate. "I can conclude that they are all training institutions, because there are screenshots of orders on their homepages." The seller affirmed.
It is reported that these training institutions have now formed an assembly line for recruiting people: agent → intermediary → training institution. The training institutions that want to make money find intermediaries, and the intermediaries find a large number of agents.
The reason why nine people are harvesting one leek is inseparable from the high commissions given by the training institutions. According to a whistleblower, the agent who brought her into the training institution once admitted that the training institution would give the agent a head fee of 1,200 yuan, and they would get a commission of 600 yuan from the agent for each person they brought in.
"I learned about this training institution from Xiaohongshu. I met five or six of them at that time. I didn't believe it when I met one, but I believed it after several of them. I thought it had a good reputation." said the seller who was defrauded by Tianjin JinX Technology Co., Ltd.
There is so much information on Xiaohongshu, how can we tell whether they are training institutions that are out to make money? The sellers who did the test said that they can judge from the following eight points: 1. They teach you how to make money on Amazon; 2. They actively share information and add WeChat; 3. They say they have just started and can make a steady profit every month; 4. They say they are sellers and add you on WeChat to communicate; 5. Their homepage is full of screenshots of orders; 6. They have no source of goods; 7. They say they do not need investment and are risk-free for self-delivery; 8. They use ERP to distribute goods.
The longest journey I have taken turned out to be the routine of the training institution
“I didn’t expect that the longest road I’ve traveled was the routine of Amazon’s training institutions.” A novice seller complained.
From what I have learned recently, I agree with this.
It is understood that some unscrupulous training institutions will deliberately put infringing products on the shelves for students. There are two reasons: 1. To receive the final payment quickly. Generally, students pay a deposit first, and then pay the final payment after the number of orders reaches a certain level. The infringing products can be placed quickly. Second, they will make another profit from the logistics fees. After quickly placing an order, the training institution will ask the trainees to recharge the logistics fees. Infringing products are prone to store closure . If the logistics fees are not used up, the store will be closed, and the remaining logistics fees will not be refunded.
In this case of repeated bloodsucking, some training institutions' agents will disguise themselves as victims when recruiting people, take advantage of the victims' sympathy and reap the benefits for the second time.
In addition, these training institutions often give students test orders in the early stages, making them mistakenly believe that they have placed orders and that Amazon is really easy to do business. Then, they repeatedly buy plug-ins and other products recommended by them, which is also a routine of these training institutions.
According to feedback from some sellers, similar training institutions are not uncommon in China, especially in third-, fourth- and fifth-tier cities. There is a huge information gap, so there are many scammers.
"My friend was also fleeced by a training institution. He paid a deposit of 4,900 yuan, and the other party sent him a video and asked him to learn slowly." said a seller.
Another novice seller who had fallen into a trap said that he spent 20,000 yuan, and the training institution gave him an ERP, and then taught him in three days how to collect and upload products on domestic websites. He was then asked to go back and study on his own, and was told that he could get his money back in half a month.
Not only Amazon, but these training institutions also directly describe cross-border e-commerce as a place full of gold when promoting to the outside world. Sellers all know that the profit margin in the Southeast Asian market is very thin and it is not easy to do business, but the titles in the short videos or tweets of these training institutions are like this: XXX market that others don’t know about, earn XXX millions in half a year
In conclusion:
Regarding these training institutions, some sellers remind you: All those who teach you how to make money are actually making money from you.
The editor would like to remind all new sellers or those who are about to enter the industry that cross-border e-commerce is a business. Some people make money and some lose money. It is not a place where you can make money everywhere. You must not believe those training institutions that claim that you can make money easily or that you can make money easily. Who would publicize their own way of making money?
Of course, not all training institutions are cutting leeks, but sellers should choose according to their actual needs. For example, if you are not proficient in basic operations, you can find a basic class. If you don’t know how to select products, you can sign up for a product selection training class. Don’t think that you can make a lot of money by participating in a training.
If you encounter training institutions that try to cheat you, you must firmly protect your rights. Amazon training institute |
