Shopify opens first mixed-use SoHo space for NYC entrepreneurs

Thousands of New York entrepreneurs have launched new businesses on Shopify in the last year, and now Shopify New York will be the hub for emerging startups in the city .

The two-story building at 131 Greene Street has 8,000 square feet of space . Upon entering, you 'll see a rotating pop-up store where merchandise is available for purchase.

Currently, two Brooklyn companies are showcasing products : Nguyen Coffee Supply and indoor greenery retailer Greenery Unlimited. Subsequent pop-up shops will periodically change merchants to give different businesses a chance to showcase their products.

At the heart of the space is Cha Ching, a café operated by Birch Coffee . To the left of the café are casual workstations where entrepreneurs and their employees can meet with Shopify experts for free 30-minute one-on-one consultations .

The second floor balcony overlooks the lower floor, and on the right is a long staircase that leads down to the meeting place . People can rest here or hold meetings here .

The building also features a mural by local artist Naomi Otsu, huge windows on the back wall and lush greenery, creating a creative and engaging space for those who live inside .

There is a photography studio nearby that provides professional equipment and backgrounds, making it an ideal place to shoot products . There is also a professional-grade audio and video recording studio where members can record podcasts. The rental of these two studios is very affordable to facilitate the use of merchants.

“New York City’s soul comes from its entrepreneurs,” said Harley Finkelstein, president of Shopify. “ To keep New York City one of the most entrepreneurial cities in the world , we’re giving entrepreneurs the resources and tools they need to build their businesses. If you’re a Shopify merchant, business owner, or an aspiring entrepreneur looking to start a business in New York, head over to Shopify New York. This space is built for you!”

According to the editor, Shopify New York will open to the public on August 5, open to merchants six days a week, and accept appointments on Mondays. There is no doubt that with 4 out of every 1,000 New York City residents being Shopify business owners , opening such a multi-functional space is obviously a wise choice for Shopify .
