Amazon removes shipping policy reminder
Recently, Amazon US released an announcement about deleting the shipping policy reminder . The content of the announcement is as follows↓
According to Amazon, “Do not accept drop shipments or allow a third party to fulfill an order to a customer on your behalf unless it is clear to the buyer that you are the seller of record.”
Amazon says the following examples of drop shipping are strictly prohibited. If you violate this policy, you may limit your ability to sell using Amazon’s Merchant Fulfillment Network ( MFN) :
Shipping orders with packing slips, invoices, outside packaging, or other information indicating the seller's name or contact information that is not your own. Purchase products from another online retailer and have that retailer ship directly to the customer (if the shipment does not identify you as the seller of record), or if anyone other than you (including the other online retailer) appears on the packing slip, invoice, or outer packaging. When customers see packaging and invoices /receipts that are not from you or Amazon, they may be confused about how their order will be fulfilled and who to contact with any issues or questions.
If you plan to use a drop shipper to fulfill your orders, you must always:
Make an agreement with your suppliers that they will identify you (and no one else) as the seller of record for your products on all packing slips, invoices, external packaging, and other information relating to or provided with the products. Before shipping an order, please remove any packing slips, invoices, external packaging, or other information that could identify a third-party drop shipper. Responsible for accepting and processing customer returns of your products. Comply with all other terms of the Seller Agreement and applicable Amazon policies.
In general, if sellers do not comply with this policy, their products will be banned from sale.
Seller's opinion window
The policy is good, but is it well thought out? How does an FBM seller tell the buyer to use them as a drop shipper? This policy applies to sellers using this sales method, not to second-hand sellers using this sales method. There are many drop shippers who buy and sell on Amazon. I have the name, address, order number and other information, how do I report this? Don’t just reiterate the rules, enforce them!
“We don’t mind someone buying our products and selling them to someone else, or not putting an invoice or packing slip in the box or envelope. But what’s annoying is when drop ship scammers claim their customers didn’t receive their packages, even when the tracking package’s delivery status shows they still get the freebies.”
It seems that sellers have different opinions on this policy, but the final decision is still in the hands of Amazon. Let us wait and see! Amazon New policies Restrictions on sales |
