Address verification has exploded on a large scale, and Amazon has issued new regulations on small and light commodity logistics!

Long before May Day, some Amazon sellers predicted that there would be trouble during the holidays, and Amazon would definitely do something strange during May Day! As expected, during the May Day holiday, Amazon sent out waves of address verification emails. Because the scope of the emails was so wide, one Amazon seller couldn't help but joked: National address verification is coming!

In addition, during the May Day holiday, Amazon also updated its European small and light commodity logistics plan. Starting from June 1, 2021, Amazon will no longer allow bundled sales, and each individual unit will also require an Amazon barcode (for small and light commodities) in the UK and Germany.

Sellers who use FBA logistics should also note that the address and zip code of the German WRO5 warehouse have changed. Another seller revealed that the warehouse address of the FTW1 warehouse has also changed. Relevant sellers should not send the wrong goods.

Address verification has exploded on a large scale. What can sellers do to pass the verification?

Address verification is a high-frequency word recently. I believe many Amazon sellers are familiar with it. During the May Day holiday, address verification broke out on a large scale:

A: On May Day, all citizens will receive address postcard verification.

B: We have 37 address verifications.

C: Wouldn’t it be very troublesome if the address is moved?

D: For accounts registered in 2020 that have undergone video verification and postcard authentication, will they receive address verification again?

E: I heard that Amazon will conduct nationwide address verification on May 1st, but I checked my mailbox and there is indeed no email. Does Amazon look down on small sellers like me?

One seller said that, except for the US site, sellers on other sites have not yet received address verification emails. However, sellers on the US site, which is at the center of the topic, will receive address verification emails one after another, regardless of whether they are new or old accounts from 2014, 2015 or 2021.

In fact, as early as the beginning of this year, some sellers broke the news that video verification and postcard verification may be fully implemented in March this year. In addition to newly registered accounts, old accounts suspected of false fraud will also be included in the review scope.

After this wave of address verification, some sellers are trembling with fear, but others say that address verification is not scary. Combining the successful experiences and failed cases in the industry, address verification can be said to be an art.

According to the guide given by Amazon, address verification needs to be done like this ↓↓↓

That is, sellers must enter an exact address that Amazon can find , rather than providing a PO Box or virtual box address. Specifically:

1. Sellers must ensure that they enter the complete and accurate street address of their location, including building number, floor, and house number.

2. Please only provide the official address information and do not include any other information.

3. Do not fill in the form in Chinese pinyin.

It is understood that after the seller enters the code on the screen, he will get a real-time verification result. If the address has been verified, then you can continue to submit your ID. If the platform cannot verify the address, then the seller can restart the process by applying for a new postcard to the same address or a different address.

After the official answers, sellers still have many questions. The most common question is: What is the postcard solution for the registered address? I have seen many sellers use the following two methods:

1. Find a way to convince the courier to sign for the package in person.

2. Change the address, change the address of the backend business license to an office address that you can receive. However, doing so may trigger a second review.

The editor kindly reminds you that the above methods may have hidden dangers, and sellers should be careful not to create hidden dangers for subsequent operations.

Amazon updates FBA Small and Light product requirements

Amazon has made changes to FBA's delivery fees and some policies this year. After announcing that logistics costs will increase from June 1, Amazon recently released requirements regarding small and light commodities. Coincidentally, this policy will also be implemented from June 1.

Yien.com learned that Amazon released an announcement yesterday on "Updates to Amazon Logistics Small and Light Product Requirements". The content of the announcement is as follows

1. Bundling requirements change

Effective immediately, you no longer need to bundle small and light units together , and you can now send your inventory as Standard FBA.

Starting June 1, 2021, bundling will no longer be allowed. From this date, units from the same ASIN cannot be bundled together when the Amazon barcode or total number of sellable units is on the outside of the packaging . Examples of such packaging include the following:

Luggage

• Manufacturers of bags

Sellers' bags

If products ship with barcodes on the outside of the packaging rather than on the individual items, the bundle may be mistakenly scanned as a whole and this shipping defect may delay receipt.

2. Amazon barcode requirements in the UK and Germany

From June 1, 2021, each individual unit will need an Amazon barcode (for Small and Light products ) in the UK and Germany , a requirement that already exists in France, Italy and Spain.

If you want to learn how to print and apply the barcodes yourself, please see the following pictures. Of course, sellers can also sign up for the FBA label service and let Amazon apply the labels for you.

Currently, the labeling service is free for products registered in the UK and Germany and €0.09 per unit for products registered in France, Italy and Spain . Any fee changes will be announced in advance.

However, if sellers can comply with the shipping and packaging requirements , this will help you avoid unplanned preparation services and delays in receiving inventory.

In the comments section below the announcement, one seller expressed his opinion, saying: "This is not a good change at all. Small and Light is for small items that are sold at a large scale. Now having to add barcode labels to over 2000 units per week will kill me and it will increase my time to create a shipment 10 times.

I know Amazon does this for free right now (only for barcoded products), but no doubt that will change soon.

It can be seen that Amazon's implementation of this policy is bound to affect some sellers, but as workers on the platform, sellers have no choice but to accept it ...

Sellers note: Amazon's two warehouses have changed their addresses

Freight forwarders are really working too hard. While others have a five-day holiday, some freight forwarders only have a two-day weekend. When I was browsing my friends' circle during the holiday, I found that many freight forwarders had sent out messages saying that the address of a warehouse in Germany had changed: the address and zip code of the German WRO5 warehouse have changed from 90451 to 06126 at the end of April.

In this regard, a freight forwarder said: "It may be due to inertia that many sellers do not update the Amazon warehouse information database in a timely manner. Recently, I have encountered many cases where the zip code of the WRO5 warehouse shipped by sellers is still 90451, but in fact the FBA label address exported when placing an order on Amazon has changed. Sellers should pay attention to this issue and avoid sending to the wrong address due to zip code issues, which will cause losses."

The freight forwarder also sent the new address of the WRO5 warehouse↓

Schieferstraße 16

Halle (Saale), Saxony-Anhalt 06126

DE (WRO5)

In addition to the change in the address of this warehouse, the address of another well-known warehouse has also changed - FTW1.

Last week, many sellers said that the address of FTW1 had changed. They had just sent the goods according to the address in the backend, but found that the address had changed. Some sellers also suggested that you should read the address clearly when sending goods, and never send the wrong address. If you send the wrong address, you may have to pay more...
