A bumper harvest during peak season? 130,000 Amazon sellers sold over $100,000 worth of goods

A bumper harvest during peak season? 130,000 Amazon sellers sold over $100,000 worth of goods

Recently, Amazon reviewed the 2021 peak season and also made a partial summary of the 2021 peak season.

Amazon said that during this year's peak season, small and medium-sized businesses received multi-faceted support from consumers and the Amazon platform, which boosted sales growth for such businesses.

Amazon said on its blog that it helped small and medium-sized businesses sell on Prime Day , attracting buyers to spend more than $100 million during the holiday season . During the holiday season, independent businesses selling on Amazon , most of which are small and medium-sized businesses, set new sales records.

Information shows that more than 130,000 third-party sellers had sales exceeding $ 100,000 . Third-party sellers in the United States sold an average of 11,500 products per minute between Black Friday and Christmas .

During this year's peak season, the main sales categories of Amazon's third-party sellers include office products, cameras and wine-related products . The most popular handmade categories among buyers include jewelry, beverages and seasonal decorations .

Amazon said in its release that its collaboration with third-party sellers is a win-win for small businesses and buyers.

Compared to the impressive data released by Amazon, many small and medium-sized sellers in China are actually helpless about this year's peak season. Issues such as account blocking and association have finally been resolved, and they have finally waited for Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Christmas, but the sales are not as good as expected. Some sellers even saw a decline in orders before and after the holidays, and there are also sellers with zero sales .

Overseas, the outlook for Black Friday in the United States this year is not optimistic either. Sales on Black Friday in the United States were $8.9 billion, the first decline in recent years compared to $9 billion in 2020. However, due to Amazon's large market size and huge consumer base, Amazon still set a sales record during Black Friday.

The fourth quarter of 2021 has ended. After experiencing a decline in Q3, it is unknown whether Amazon's Q4 performance will usher in new growth driven by the peak season. The influx of many new sellers is bound to cause greater competition in the new year.
