With more people eating at home, deliveries of wine glasses and dessert plates increased by 191% , and deliveries of tableware , cutlery (tablecloths, etc.) and dinnerware also increased by more than 70%.
In 2018 and 2019, the top three product categories were food (22%), clothing (20%), and life and health (18%) , but last year, as people became more concerned about hygiene and health , the life and health (20%) product group ranked second after food (29%), surpassing fashion and clothing (18%).
The delivery of life and health products also increased by 50% compared to last year , while the growth rates of clothing (19%) and cosmetics and beauty (14%) were relatively low.
Due to working from home and online teaching, the demand for home office furniture has increased significantly , and the delivery volume of chairs has increased by 112% .
Hula hoop deliveries increased by 332%, while deliveries of treadmills (212%), running machines (192%), and dumbbells and dumbbells (102%) also increased, and sales of home training-related items also increased significantly.
As camping becomes more popular, deliveries of outdoor tents for car users increased by 440% , inflatable mattresses ( 316%), camping and car tables and folding boxes (168%), and firewood and charcoal (114%) were also items that saw an increase in deliveries.
The epidemic has had a huge impact on the Korean consumer goods market. Sellers should be consumer-centric, conduct in-depth analysis and follow consumer trends to seize the leading position in the industry.
