Halal industry value reaches 3 billion rupiah, Blibli implements halal guarantee system

It is understood that the Shariah Committee must declare the halal status of a product in the form of a document in accordance with the LPPOM   Review by MUI auditor.

In Southeast Asia, the development of the halal lifestyle of local consumers has also begun to enable Blibli to implement a halal guarantee system .

In particular, the adoption of the halal lifestyle by the Indonesian people has spurred the development of the shariah industry, which is a priority for the government to stimulate the national economy.

Blibli also becomes the first e-commerce halal assurance system to have a halal regulator in the e-commerce ecosystem for implementation .

According to the Financial Services Authority, the halal industry's trade value has reached IDR 3 billion in 2020 and is expected to increase as the halal lifestyle develops.

The government is also targeting the growth of the halal value chain, which involves using e-commerce as a strategy to develop the shariah economy. The shariah industry, as well as many people who live a halal lifestyle, are increasingly becoming a focus of the government.

Seeing this, Blibli executives said they are looking to supplement its e-commerce ecosystem by making it easier for customers to find everything from food to Muslim-friendly halal products.

It is reported that Blibli is designing so that the entire e-commerce process from product display on the page , accompanied by the halal supervisor , Blibli can arrange the entire value chain in its e-commerce ecosystem to focus on HAS standardization.

Therefore, halal products are properly handled from storage at the warehouse to delivery by the courier. Blibli itself has also noticed a positive trend in the demand for Muslim-friendly halal products.

Recently, Blibli launched two new categories, ‘Muslim Fashion’ category and ‘Precious Metal Jewellery’ category and expanded the curation of Blibli Hasanah for Muslim-friendly products.

In addition to adding categories, Blibli continues to expand with Blibli Hasanah adding new subcategories namely Halal Food , Halal Drinks and Muslim Events which offers tickets and vouchers for events such as online Islamic classes.

As part of Indonesia’s e-commerce industry, Blibli also works with relevant stakeholders to promote the development of the Shariah industry. For example, Blibli has partnered with banking institutions and financial technology companies to provide Shariah-based payment tools, including LinkAja Syariah Services.
