70% of people report having sleep problems, global organic bedding market expected to grow

On World Sleep Day in March this year , Royal Philips conducted a sleep survey on 13,000 adults in 13 countries around the world . 70% of the respondents said they had at least one or more sleep problems .

According to data from Uswitch , searches for sleeping conditions such as "insomnia" or "difficulty falling asleep" have increased by 22% since March 2020, with searches peaking between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m.

In order to fall asleep quickly and soundly, people buy sleep aids online, download sleep aid apps, and even buy their own bedding to sleep more comfortably. Paying attention to health has become a trend, and the sleep economy has also become a hot topic.

Market research firm Fact.MR predicts that the global organic bedding market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of nearly 5% by 2031. Consumers will tend to buy sustainable and high-quality products. In addition , products made of natural materials and the emergence of new demands are also expected to have a positive impact on the growth of the global organic bedding market.

In fact, today's sedentary lifestyle is causing many chronic diseases related to joints and muscles, including diseases such as fibromyalgia, which are becoming more and more common. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, fibromyalgia affects about 4 million American adults, accounting for 2% of the total population. Recent data shows that the prevalence has increased and will account for 4% of the total population . A comfortable sleep is one of the things that patients look forward to the most.

In the Fact.MR survey, American consumers showed a strong preference for organic bedding due to skin sensitivity and other issues ; British consumers were more inclined to choose organic bedding due to concerns about environmental issues . In Asia, India and China have high domestic cotton production , so cotton is the main raw material for organic bedding .

According to the latest report from Grand View Research, Inc., the global home bedding market is expected to reach $147.09 billion by 2028. During the epidemic, people working from home especially loved working in bed, which also led to intermittent growth in high-quality bedding in 2020 .

These new trends have prompted consumers to choose bedding with enhanced comfort . Organic mattresses and organic bedding sets can provide patients with higher comfort. Famous manufacturers such as Nectar, Bear Mattress, Purple Hybrid and Puffy Mattress are trying various natural materials besides cotton to capture the market by developing different products.
