More than 10 million users per week! South Korea's second-hand market is expanding rapidly

It is known that one in five Korean citizens uses the Carrot Market at least once a week. It is estimated that the influence of Carrot is expanding as it plays a role in cultivating a community based on the region with used car transactions as the core .

On the 12th, Carrot Market announced that as of March, the number of weekly users (WAU) has exceeded 10 million.

WAU sees it as a standard that can measure the closeness between services and users in the industry. During the same period, the Carrot Market has accumulated more than 20 million users and more than 15 million monthly users. WAU has also exceeded 10 million , proving that local residents have been connected through the Carrot Market.

The number of users who have sold second-hand goods at least once on the Carrot Market has reached 10 million , and the Carrot Market has become a place to participate in resource reuse. In particular, it was found that 93.3% of the members who simultaneously bought and sold second-hand goods on the Carrot Market were the majority of users who acted as both buyers and sellers at the same time.

Meanwhile, Carrot Market explained: “It has become a local living community and a second-hand trading service based on two-way communication with real neighbors.”

The Carrot Market aims to be a "hyperlocal" market that serves small areas such as communities and complexes. In addition, fraud in second-hand transactions is frequent in express delivery transactions, which is limited to local residents and allows for direct transactions, which is considered a factor for success.

As local residents connect, the monthly active volume of Carrot Market has more than doubled from 6.6 million in March last year to 15 million in a year. It currently provides services in 6,577 areas across the country and is expanding to overseas markets such as the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.

Kim Young-soo, co-CEO of Carrot Market , said: "We have opened the era of 10 million second-hand transaction sellers by emphasizing the importance of the environment and the reusability of resources to encourage user participation. We will continue to innovate to become a leader in the hyperlocal market by expanding the types of connections we have."
