According to news reports, among the five most visited e-commerce platforms in Australia, four are dominated by the US distributor eBay Australia and Amazon's international site and domestic offer. From January to March 2019, eBay Australia was still the most used retail website in Australia, with 194.9 million consumers, while the global website attracted 36.6 million consumers.
Amazon's global site is growing faster than its local site, with the US site having 58.1 million customers in Australia during that period , compared with 35.5 million using the Australian version.

The second most visited website was Woolworths with 33.7 million shoppers during the period, Coles had 22.5 million, Jb Hi-Fi had 29.1 million, Kmart had 22.4 million and Kogan had 20.9 million.
Currently, there are about 14 million online shoppers in Australia, and eBay serves two-thirds of them. In terms of categories, since March last year, sales of masks have soared by an astonishing 713,477%, becoming the product with the largest increase, followed by hand sanitizer sales, which have soared by 4,000%.
