In 2020, these are the fastest growing online sites in the United States

Recently, Searchmetrics conducted relevant data statistics on the websites with the fastest growth in search performance on Google for e-commerce brands during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, and obtained the following data.

Tech giant Apple , with its search engine optimization ( SEO) strengths, took the top spot, followed by Amazon (which straddles the line between tech giant and online marketplace) and online marketplaces eBay and Etsy.

Telecommunications provider Verizon ranked fifth , followed by Microsoft , The Home Depot and video game brand Nintendo. Audible.com ranked ninth , while discount store chain Target ranked 10th .

Searchmetrics classified the top ten platforms into categories, including Apple , Verizon , Microsoft and Nintendo as electronics brands; Amazon , eBay , Etsy and Target as consumer product brands; Home Depot as a home improvement brand; and Audible.com as a personal development brand. It is worth noting that Target and Home Depot , which started out as traditional physical retailers , also have online retail stores that are among the fastest growing online sites in 2020.

However , no fashion e-commerce store made the list of top 10 winners. In addition, Macy ’s saw a significant decline , while H&M , ASOS and global fashion search platform Lyst were the three fashion brands with the largest growth in searches on Google, according to Searchmetrics .

It is reported that Searchmetrics' ranking is based on the search results of millions of keywords every week in a year (including search frequency and ranking). Among them, this ranking is based on user search data from the beginning of 2020 to the end of 2020.

However, if we analyze the top 10 Google SEOs in 2020 strictly by percentage value , Audible.com tops the list with a 567% increase , while Amazon, which ranks second, actually has the lowest overall performance growth rate of 10%.

From the above data, it can be seen that retail platforms that have traditional offline retail stores and are transforming to the online market have more competitive advantages in online marketing because they have a large number of offline users. However, these data are only a reference for sellers to choose appropriate websites for entry and advertising.
